I guess they haven't touched the side roads yet, coming home Lochmeath Way by Lowes was horrible. Felton did a pretty good job clearing out, Camden not so much. Heard limbs coming down all night last night here though. Luckily still have power, just hoping we get through the cold snap. I grew up in Magnolia, Lexington Mill Rd off of Irish HIll Rd. Still go through that way when i'm heading to the golf course.

I drove up to Dover this afternoon to dig my parents' cars out and was surprised I didn't see more trees down. I'll take 18" of powder snow any day of the week over this 4" frozen concrete w/ 2" ice topping. Its torn up more stuff than any other storm I can remember going back to the '93 ice storm. 12/18/2009...can't remember which model showed it first but that's the last time I remember seeing something like this...

Snow was ripping when I left work in Dover around 6:00. Snowing hard Dover through Camden, DE, eased up by the time I got home in Felton, DE around 6:30. Grass & sidewalks covered, roads still holding strong.

That was a long week everywhere in the mid-atlantic. Power out everywhere, try to drive and couldn't get out of the driveway, let alone 10' down the road...traveled by golf carts in my area...visiting neighbors in the woods across the way was like being a medic in artillery field (limbs falling every 5 seconds)...that was a crazy storm and I hope I never see another one

Haven't read Roger's report yet but ive wondered about the Lunar effects on the LP transfer, as well as the solar inducing effects on the LP... regarding RI... and how that effects the overall dynamics of the 2nd part of this storm...will be interesting to watch play out regardless

Those are some incredible pics JoMo. Even looking at those pics its difficult for me to get my head wrapped around it. Almost makes me want to fly out there just to see it for myself. Thank you for the links, i'll check those out. I also found this site from the news this morning: cfozarks.org They seem legit, and appear to be collecting long term donations to assist in the rebuild of the community. Anybody familiar with that site?

I'm going to make it a focus next week to try and see if I can hit up some folks for some relief effort. I don't know how successful i'll be but if I can manage to procure some donations, can I just pm you JoMo to assist me in making sure that the monetary or "supply" effort makes its way to the people most in need of it (versus getting pigeon holed in some beaurocratic coffer somewhere)?

I'm glad to hear that you and your family are ok. If you don't mind, i'd like to copy and paste that to email out to people that I know. I think if someone has not made a decision yet to donate in some way to the people of Joplin, maybe they should take a few minutes and put themselves in your story. Its incredible just thinking about it.
