  1. I had to reseed a portion of the front lawn due to skunk damage and the side due to my neighbor's contractor not reseeding or filling sinkholes he created my lawn while replacing a water line. I have had to water daily for two weeks and the grass is coming up and everything around those areas is brown and dormant. I usually aerate and overseed every other year. I skiped this year as it has been so dry.
  2. Dormant here too. The skunks destroyed a portion of my front lawn, so I reseeded last weekend and have watered twice daily. I was counting on rain yesterday that never happened. Good thing I did not overseed and aerate the rest of the lawn this year.
  3. I can confirm and I just was in the hospital for 2 days for a severe staph infection on my legs. I had several bites from when hiking and doing yardwork, which I scratched. May have been while doing yardwork and got dirt on the bites? Either way, it spread quickly and severely. It initially appeared like a poison ivy rash. I assumed that was all it was. I have learned some valuable lessons. All is getting better now though, thank goodness, but I hate mosquitoes.
  4. I never saw the original either, though I did do the ride with my son and wife twice at Universal...lol.
  5. 87% Humidity and 76 degrees. Not real comfortable.
  6. I held off fertilizing the lawn in anticipation of 2-4 inches of rain and possibility that the fertilizer is mostly washed away. I maybe should have gone ahead and fertilized. We have had two very light rains all since Tuesday. Today's was more a misting and sprinkles. I guess we will see what happens overnight, we could use some rain.
  7. It was 94% humidity around 6:30am here. As of late, each morning starts out in the 90s.
  8. I don't have a rain gauge but that was some of the heaviest rainfall rates in a while. The retention basin behind our home became about 40% full in short order. All drained off now. I am at the northernmost point of Hillsborough.
  9. We are in Niagara Falls. Down around the Falls itself was very crowded yesterday. My brother headed out this morning and lots of roads and parks roped off. Not sure if they expect folks to walk or shuttle? Just hoping weather clears. Forecast is clouds. If that is the case we are hoping for light ones. There's some hope the systems move through and out for part of the event.
  10. Looks like Niagara Falls now forecasting mostly cloudy - after mostly sunny for days. Hopefully changes back between now and then.
  11. I have family in the Niagara Falls area and we are heading up there for the viewing. Getting towards that time where checking the forecasts daily.
  12. Time to bring the cacti in the garage again. They enjoyed a week's vacation in the sun and warmth.
  13. Went for a long bicycle ride today and my wife and I went to the park for a walk. People were out en masse and gorgeous skies. So nice after 5 hours on the road in rain yesterday. Frogs are croaking everywhere. Starting to think it is time to take the snow thrower to the basement until Nov/Dec.
  14. We more than doubled what was received Tuesday. Awesome hit.
  15. Wow..slept in today and woke up to a pounding. Measured 10 inches on the car and 8.5 inches on the landscape wall. My wife was up at 5am and said there has been compaction and some melt along the walkway since she got up. Nice surprise.
  16. Cleared the driveway about 45 mins ago. Hair over 4" of heavy wet snow. Clogged the blower chute a few times. It is still snowing at moderate clip and added another 3/4 inch or so. Not disappointed given they were calling for just an inch a day or two ago.
  17. AccuWeather has my town at 1-2" and TWC at 5-8". So 1-8 inches....lol. I would be excited with 3-5 inches - which falls in the middle.
  18. Same here. My wife and I got a pic just before the sun rose and thought it would build...but it faded.
  19. I am not far from you and it is not even sticking to my untreated driveway. Maybe 1/2 inch sticking to a brick landscape wall on my patio and only a dusting is sticking the cars. Pretty much a nothingburger here thus far.
  20. Light flurries here but none is collected on the roads or vehicles so far. Temp is 28 so I would have expected at least a dusting to show on the roads.
  21. There appears to be a number of power lines down here around Flagtown/Neshanic. Minor flurries earlier this afternoon. Sunny now and gusty.
  22. Flurries started here about 10 mins ago. Pretty good intensity at first and now tapering off.
  23. Lots of road closures surrounding us. Going to get on the bicycle shortly and check things out. There is an alternative route out of development that remains open in all but the worst conditions. It looks like the Raritan will crest this afternoon. I think parts of 206 are closed already. If the Finderne Rd bridge into Manville closes later today, we pretty much will be on an island again. Just an inconvenience for me but I hate to see the homes that get flooded.
