    Don't underestimate the nam in this range. It's been pretty good with the 2 big storms this season.

    I am hoping for this too as it seems to be better than old GFS. Why are they having so many problems with the data flow?

    GFS is garbage. I put more weight on another less than stellar model, the ICON, which at 18z has a storm. GFSv16 seems to be much better and has a storm on its 06z run but 12z run didn't come out for some reason. Cmc hopefully shows something at 00z and GFS will play catchup like it always does.

    06z GFSv16 has a storm as well for the 7th. 12z isn't out yet.

    Yes. I think we get our heaviest snow between 2 and 10pm, something like that.

    What about NWS Albany? IMO the most conservative office. Flakes will be flying in less than 12 hours and forecast is for 12-18 yet I'm still in a winter storm watch. Really?

    Free pivotal weather does not have 06z and 18z runs of ECM or high resolution ECM. Other models yes.

    I think it's mainly that models have brought the better forcing north into our area.

    It will come down fast and furious before any dry slot. Storm is moving slowly so most locations should see a foot before dry slot but it is a concern especially if Euro verifies.
