  1. Gigantic rumble of thunder. Lots of water on the roadways .
  2. Couple large rumbles of thunder and a singular lightning strike in DC .
  3. I'd like to make a reservation for next season
  4. I don't remember who it was (maybe @Tenman Johnson?), but when the winter was looking to be a clunker in Jan/Feb, someone talked about how a couple winters that had wet summers were analogs and were all pretty crappy winters. I wonder what a wet or dry spring means for a winter. Probably not much
  5. Not feeling the rain for this week. Low energies + low radiation.
  6. Not sure if this was posted, but it seems as if the storm was a confirmed derecho
  7. Nice closing act. Thunder that shook the entire house
  8. Decent storm here. Nothing special but luckily power never went off. Have had lightning/thunder since about 6:40 .
  9. I'd hope so. Would be a miracle to get 2 separate Ninos (2009-10 being the first) to coincide with low solar in a row.
  10. What ENSO phases are the best for you guys. I remember 2012 (weak Nina) was decent for skiing, but 2015 (Weak Nino) was a torch. Of course this was at elevated areas.
  11. Kind of seems like a mini version of 2003. From what I've seen in terms of the 2000s for DCA it was the coldest & wettest year of the 2000s.
  12. Hmm, I think I may put Lee remnants up there. Didn't know it was what I experienced in early September 2011 (I was 8 at the time). I recall crazy flooding while my mom was driving me home from school, and we actually got part of the school playground partially swept away/destroyed from the water. That was pretty memorable
  13. Feb 2015 cold was pretty memorable too. Only time we'd ever had school cancellations due to cold weather
  14. My memory goes from derecho onward, but still the derecho takes the cake. The timing & the aftermath (Of course the heat afterwards), made it an extreme event. Pretty sure we lost power from midnight of June 29th (or whatever time the derecho started) up to July 6th. With 2 dogs we had to get to our grandparent's house (3 hours away), where they had a generator. Those 2 days we spent in our house with no AC in 90 degree+ heat was unbearable
