    Yes, but I feel we are getting a little lackadaisical on the fact that what is going on here. Nothing like this has occurred in this area since modern record keeping began in the late 1800s I think that is important to emphasize. While there was nothing inherently wrong with the original post, It gives fuel to some posters that try to brush all this off as a statistical anomaly...which it clearly isnt

    It was nothing like this It is much, much warmer now. Emphasis on much. I see 2 days with normal temps in the next 15 days.

    Snowless winter for NYC is coming. Follow the trends Heck, other than that mid Jan storm and a storm last march, NYC hasnt had snow on the ground for more than a day in 2 years. We heard this was coming for 30 years, and all at once it MAY have showed up under our noses Dec 22-> with no end in sight to the warmth

    You may not hit top 10 if you get a cold snap Keep in mind mid 40s isn’t that much above normal as you close in middle and later in the month if you get one of those Weaks below normal, you pull away from the warmest months on record Now if mid 40s becomes mid 60s, We are off to the races

    Save what? An average snow in a history book? This has been one of the most consistently warm winters in NYC history. February will continue that. March snowfall will not change that

    We always had variances, but we are dealing with a much warmer climate in the 2010s than we ever have before...And that pace is accelerating As posted it in another thread, 11 of our last 14 winter months have been above normal You can take the history books and throw them in the garbage with stats like that...We are in a new realm now

    Dont bet on it. One of the posters on here keeps talking about a 30 inch average...I think he said we needed 17 inches by 12/31 to get there. I said the same thing...dont bet on it.

    Easily. What is particularly scary is the fact that there is no cold air in sight, which is simply amazing. It is like winter just didn’t show up this year

    I think the shock of what has been going on for 20 years is finally setting in We have been gradually getting warmer throughout the AN snow Now the snowy pattern has eased and it really is apparent how much of our “winter” we lost. On a 15 degree morning, when you look out and see nothing even close to resembling that for the next 2 weeks in January and February, you know something is wrong

    Looks like we can officially move from AN to Torch for the first week of February Very sad. Coldest part of the winter and No cold air in sight

    The snow man and snow cover live to fight another day Despite the crappy winter, we have had several days with snow cover in early December and now. That is something my peeps just south have not had, and it makes the winter that much worse. 27F
