Anthony He and the team are already down on the earth,,,I didn't wait until tonight,,,,,ps last week the winds were gusting to 30 and we had issues so even though I took precautions last week and looking and not trusting these maps I figured better safe than sorry- 489 replies

I am going to wait until dinner time to make the call but I am leaning towards temporarily taking the Christmas decorations down from my roof,,,,I mean even if the winds verified at half as strong as depicted on those maps and they could be 35mph with higher gusts N n W of NYC and I would rather be safe than sorry. I will see what the models are showing later today to make my final call but im leaning towards caution- 489 replies

10 30 and 32 degrees in New City
-
I don't have # but the winds here in New City were definitely gusting higher than 15 mph ( much higher ) as Santa and his reindeer are currently having some serious issues on my roof but I won't be climbing up there to fix them until these winds die down all together,,,,,,anyone have a guesstimate as to what time these winds will stop as me and the elves need to get topside and get things secured on my roof
-
no apologies necessary MJO ,,,everyone should just stick to the maps, charts, predictions and explanations fellas as the pettiness really gets ugly. Now back to weather
-
12:40 in New City New York and it is 35 degrees out there !!!!!

We gave it a shot Rob as the party began around 2 pm at my house and we were good until 4 pm but then all hell broke loose and we had to take it indoors. It began thundering earlier than 4 and for quite a while so I started looking at the radar and I saw that the Bronx and some other areas were getting crushed,,,,,,,,Im glad I did not cancel as it was a fun time
-
your keyboard to mother natures ears,,,,,,thanks
-
Rob yep,,,,and the thing is that it has been very hard to get this group together something has always come up for a few of us so thats why I am pushing to get us together, and get this in today,,,,I have cover if need be and we can head inside for that along with more ice or wine if needed
-
Yes Rob,,,,,and the HRRR along with 3k and now the 12K which was previously wetter looks better but I just wish that I could be certain that these pop up storms were going to happen later ( if at all ) say closer to 6 pm than 2 pm when my shindig begins. Thanks for the reply

I posted this in the other thread but I am on the fence about cancelling my get together today --- I have a question = If I am concerned about todays weather are any of the Meso models still worth looking at so close to game time / people arriving at my house by 2pm ( New City Rockland County ) or at this point should I just be looking at the radar ? Or should I just cancel my plans ? Thanks

Just now (2 am ) took the dog for a walk in the yard,,,,tonight is cooler than last night but still sticky out there. Weather Gods appear to be smiling on me right now as my BBQ which is scheduled for Saturday afternoon "might" be dry / fingers crossed. Some models still appear to be showing more dry than wet as HRRR, FV3and 3K are much drier but RGEM and 12K and 32K are more wet. I hope that the 2nd group are wrong and I will be watching the radar from noon onward
-
Mesos are still looking mostly dry for tomorrow I sure hope they are correct as I said earlier I have people coming over for a BBQ,,,waiting on the later model runs
-
It absolutely poured here in New City,,,,,,had some nice sized hail as well along with some loud thunder boomers,,,,,this is fine for today but I need it to stay mostly dry tomorrow because I have people coming to my house ---models look much drier for tomorrow just sayin
-
Yep, exactly Rob and yesterday it all missed me until late last night. I am going to keep watching things until early tomorrow see how this plays out really hoping to get this in
-
agreed Thanx

I posted this in N n W but am putting this here also = What do you guys think about tomorrow (Saturday the 9th) as I am having people over my house for an afternoon / evening party from 2 pm onward and am looking at the models.....The "Mesos" are NOT showing a washout and that I might actual be able to luck out and stay mostly dry,,,,,,do I have a shot at this = thoughts ?
