Snowing at a decent clip in New City Rockland County as EVERYTHING including the street is now white ----Happy New Year all.

as I said those must have been some times,,,,

I remember seeing ice flowing under the Verrazano and in that bay many times as I grew up in Brooklyn and that happened often in the 70's and 80's,,,,,

My Grandfather was an ice man he would deliver ice to homes and businesses ( kinda like what Ralph and Alice had on the honeymooners they had an ice box ) long before refrigerators but anyways he would tell me stories of how the water between Manhattan and Jersey would freeze,,,,,,,it would freeze so solid that they had horses pulling wagons across from one side to the other,,,,,I wish I had some pictures,,,,,,anyway my Dad would tell me that he could remember from when he was a young kid ( born 1930 ) that water being frozen from New York to Jersey,,,,,what a time and sight that must have been

What is this that we are looking at for Monday = looks like rain yuck

Yep and the roads around here are horrible,,,,,,,,

Started snowing not that long ago fast-forward everything is white roads haven’t been treated and it looks like a postcard outside still coming down kind of light but everything is sticking. Everything is white.

Rob , thanks ps I hope you enjoyed as I am shot myself we went to visit a neighbor for what was supposed to be a quick 10 minute visit and it turned out to be a 3 hour continuation of more wine and laughs ,,,enjoy the snow brother I hope Mother Nature gives us a belated Christmas gift,,,,,,,to those playing along at home the NWS upped totals overnight in my area ( New City Rockland ) from 4-8 to now 5- 9

I am beyond happy with the amount of snow we have here in New City Rockland County as I expected an inch maybe 2 and this event is definitely doing much better than it was advertised -----Merry Christmas everyone THIS IS GREAT !

pleasantly surprised as its 32 in New City and I would guesstimate that we have 2 inches give or take,,,,my son is visiting with his dog who rarely sees snow and she and I are in the back yard loving this !!!! And to you naysayers and haters who said this wouldn't be possible, well I got 3 words for ya " Let It Snow "

Insane winds Bx I went to DeCiccos New City and it started to pour and the Salvation Army guy ran for cover as his tripod and donation bucket went sailing down the pavement ----my son calls me while this is going and and our 20 foot Santa which was not inflated at the time but on the ground is in the neighbors yard and he tells me one of our wreaths was turned into a UFO and that as soon as he retrieves the Santa he will get on the wreath ,,,,,,crazy winds
