    Yeah. A trace is unmeasurable snow. A single flurry or heavy snow that's not sticking both are a trace. If you can't measure 0.1" it's a trace.

    Moderate snow 35* white rain for now.

    Started mixing with snow, nothing on the ground but a few cars have slush. Temp has fallen to 33.

    Drove into snow and cars sliding on the Cross County in Yonkers. Came out of nowhere taking cars by surprise, at least those coming from the east and south. West of the Bronx River you hit slushy roads and mainly snow falling.

    Doesnt help it's so marginal to begin with. My theory is it sometimes happens but more like the difference between 5 or 6 inches, but with this its a matter of 1" or nothing so it's more obvious. You're right though its usually doesn't extend very far like it would on the Atlantic side. I'm told there is some light acclumation in parts of the west half of the Bronx.

    Around Southern most Westchester and NE Bronx all I see is rain, moderate at times. I assume if that strong east wind lines up right with the Sound it might as well be JFK here.

    I'm in New Rochelle atm and it's light rain and sleet here. I'd say 70/30 in favor of rain. Being close to the Sound doesn't help I'd imagine. I'm about to be heading west through the Bronx so maybe by Kingsbridge or Riverdale I'll see some flakes.

    Coldest of the season, 33 with the freeze warning. Did touch 32 briefly. Temp been sitting right on the 32/33 mark.

    Yeah not the "warm" day advertised at all. Sure a mild late Oct day but relative to this week and the forecast its cool, breezy overcast day. Chilly if you dressed for 70s.

    They saying basically citywide now. No reliable service. Lower Manhattan is gridlock with areas of flash flooding.

    You gotta put that on you tube or something. I heard a lifeguard today say he thought he saw a dolphin (probably) jumping out the water in the distance. There's a video recently of a pod of dolphins swimming in the western LI Sound, between Rye and New Rochelle. A little surprised they would go so far into the Sound. There was a dolphin in the Bx River a few months ago so I guess I shouldn't be surprised anymore.

    Was at the rockaways and the water was very warm, reminded me of those water temps near 80 we had in July. Felt a little warmer then back then tbh. My watch was showing 78 - 81.

    Very heavy rain continues..over 2" temp down to 68

    At the Rockaways cloudy and humid. Weather station home in Bx says very heavy rain. 1.70" rain in last 45 mins. Lightning detection going crazy. Temp down to 70 from 89
