  1. A t storm just south of south st seaport is causing pandemonium with flying umbrella and flying broken glass on the piers for happy hour. Pouring in Bk with drizzle sunshine and powerful winds by Fulton
  2. In today's case there's more clouds and storms around DC so they not reaching their full potential. The park probably shouldn't be the same as an overcast DCA. A late push and I'm up to 96.
  3. 94 dew 67. Yday was 90..maybe avoid enough storms to sneak in a 90 tomorrow for a heat wave. Dew point is down a little at least.
  4. Temp took off..93 here, probably helped by a dry as hell backyard
  5. Are we close to any record low high temps today? Last unseasonably cool day we avoided it with midnight high temps, but we don't have that today
  6. Down to 55 here. LGA is 56, at least tying the record low set in 1958. Don't know if they went below btwn hourly observations or may still drop a degree.. JFK is 55, the record is 54 in 1965.
  7. Flash flooding in the bx..Pelham Pkwy..Laconia, williamsbridge rd. Pelham Pkwy subway station
  8. It looked wild looking uptown from around wtc. Home station in bx showed 1" in 20 mins, most if it in the first 10 mins.
  9. Extended rounds of t storms continue. Some scattered pockets of power outages around as well, from lightening strikes I'm assuming
  10. I never experienced such a drop from mid 90s without a t storm before. It's like walking into a air conditioner outside
  11. Winds suddenly started gusting from the ENE in the Bx while headed east on Pelham Pkwy. A strong cool salty smelling wind. Like a light switch. It looks like a shower coming in..Unless that's the pollen?
  12. Tremont/Van Nest up to 98. I always thought the area really bakes, dense but low rise so little shade. The Con Ed plant feels like a little piece of EWR, or LGA without the water. 97 here just over 1 mile away.
  13. Wtf man..that looks like a horror movie lol another reason to not like back door cold fronts
  14. Got to 90 before 11 am. Feels worse on elevated train platform
  15. Made it to 90, 3rd of the month. Not bad for May.
  16. Real warm one today, lot of sunshine today 83 dew 68. Above forecasts which I heard some say was a decent chance of happening. Maybe fuel for stronger storms later?
  17. Made it to 94 today. Down to a breezy 85 now. Felt more of a scorcher today than yday, maybe because yday had the relatively cool start. Sun and very warm from early morn today.
  18. Damn that hurts lol. I would be finding reasons to go 10 miles north if I lived there. Pays off later I guess. Even up to Brooklyn College is down to 78, with low 90s in NW Queens and the Bronx. Sitting at 93 here
  19. Watch for when the sun angle gets slightly lower and goes below some of the trees etc, say around 3pm. Around then it frequency falls while everyone else is steady or rising. I think the effect is worse later in the the summer than now though, so they might just keep pace today..
  20. Huge temp jump the last hr to 85, dew 71, HI 91
  21. I noticed some forecasts have gone in that direction. Not everyone though, for what it's worth I was watching ch 7 this morn Sam Champion sounded skeptical of that. NWS forecasts for me in the middle of the Bx has went to 91 on Sat and 92 on Sun. Their rain chances on Sun have dropped to 30% as well.
  22. More clouds now, but visibility of the moon isn't bad.
  23. Partly to mostly sunny now, temp jumped to 78, dew 68. Highest temp of the yr so far
  24. Whoa..my head would explode if that happened now lol. I can't fathom it. 53 in July is very impressive. As far as my memory goes, getting to low 60s within the UHI would be considered a cool spell during peak summer. How does a day with full sunshine in July stay below 70
  25. Damn..dew point is 8 at Central Park, 14% humidity. As dry as it gets here in May I'd imagine. I guess I'm wrong but wouldn't it be incredibly difficult to get that dry on a NE wind. Not as much moisture as a south wind sure but shouldn't a NE wind pick up at least some humidity off the Atlantic and Sound
