  1. In lower Manhattan now and it sure feels like 80. Home thermometer is 68, a little east of the Bx Zoo. Spring is the only time Central Park can regularly be a NYC hot spot..and probably parts of SI too.
  2. Gotta get rid of this NE wind east of Manhattan LGA 60 Central Park 75 Newark 83 JFK 67 on a light S wind.
  3. In the bx, rain turned into a hailstorm, pea sized and enough to coat the ground, now the sun's coming back out melting the coating away. Hail did take out a decent amount of cherry blossoms etc
  4. Yeah time to close the curtain on this. These dewpoints are brutal too..5 degrees or so, air that dry plus allergy season is a brutal assault on the sinus. Even temps in the 40s have alot more chill to it with humidity so low.
  5. Yday was 76, today overacheving with all this sun..sunny and 69..with a little humidity today
  6. 28 and snow. Got a coating so far..more so than yday. What exactly is this, renegade lake effect snow band?
  7. Driving around Pelham Bay, Bx had a windy burst of very heavy rain and sleet, more like hail really. Now light rain and snow, temp rapidly falling, down to 40.
  8. ...actually may be trash fires set that spread
  9. Multiple brush fires in Central Park, looks like all in northern end of the Park
  10. Warm night..temps steadily rising since 8pm. From low 60s to 68 at 10:15 pm..matching the high temp from the afternoon
  11. Alot of ice here in the bx. Much more than the last time. Thick coating everywhere, a quarter inch ice on some surfaces, but some of that is sleet holding it together so dunno how you measure that. Some sagging trees along Pelham Pkwy. Right now freezing rain and sleet mix and 30.
  12. Feels great out, 69 here..dew point has started to plummet last 30 mins though
  13. Maybr because a snow squall is like the winter equivalent of a summer severe t-storm ?
  14. Mostly cloudy..some breaks of sun and 61
  15. Is anyone getting acclumation on paved surfaces? If so how far from the city does it start to stick
  16. Snow picked up alot compared to before sunrise..now around 2" on the trees and cars. Heavier snow not but still no acclumation at all on paved surfaces. Temp down to 31. Yday was 61.
  17. Temp off to the races today. Already 51 under sunny skies. About a 10 degree jump in a hour. Today suppose to be a few degrees cooler than yday I think. We'll see how that holds up.
  18. It's basically impossible to walk outside. Ice coating everywhere. Streets have a glossy sheen now too.
  19. Noticeable difference here in the last hour. Trees are icy and sidewalks starting to ice over. I'm down to 29 in the bx. Based on NYC micronets, 28 at Lehman College, 29 by Parkchester, 29 at Queens College
  20. Down to 30 with moderate freezing rain. Technically anyway. There is some ice shining on trees in the last 30 mins
  21. Yup I agree..and having the remote option to fall back on makes it an easier decision for some places.
  22. Quite a gradient, even if it lasted for like 15 mins. I went from 56 to 37 btwn 630 and 730am. It did feel damn good this am while it lasted.
  23. 42 with Dense fog. Huge amount of snow melt overnight
  24. Islip average snowfall to date really 14.9"? More than NYC, same as Newark.
