  1. 65 miles W of NYC per last NHC update. Still windy here but gusts are less powerful
  2. NYC Mesonets near 70 mph for reference.. Queens is at Queens College. Manhattan at Hunter College on the UES Bronx -Lehman College, Bedford Park SI - College of Staten Island http://www.nysmesonet.org/weather/maps/Wmax
  3. Took a short walk, not the safest idea. Trees, and large branches falling all over. Got stuck trying to find a way back avoiding large trees. People out were staying in the middle of the street, scared of snapping branches all around
  4. wind really came in strong with those showers, howling down the street, strong enough to start to rip some of those cloth awnings some business have. Then it calmed down somewhat.
  5. sudden heavy rain came in like a wall, slowing down now. gusty winds with the downpours
  6. Wow frequent vivid lightning and shake your windows kind of thunder. Heavy rain. Wind intense to start
  7. Im guessing no, highest I saw was 88 and now latest update is 86.
  8. 90/65, that makes a heat wave. 15 of last 17 days 90+, or sort of like one long heat wave since Jul 18, minus Fridays
  9. Feel like one of the most oppressive days we've had. Lots of sun 88/78
  10. some breaks on sun now. 81/70. midnight high of 82
  11. including 3 straight days with 80+ minimums, and 4 of 5 days. That level of sustained heat with no relief is worse than just very hot days. It takes quite a toll on you. We're not in FL with widespread central AC
  12. I got to 95. Its been partly sunny for the most part. Mostly cloudy once in a while but high thin clouds not thick overcast. I did get a thicker overcast recently but to my suprise temps still holding in low 90s.
  13. Got pretty dark here. Severe T storm warning for Northern Westchester, Fairfield county CT. Around Ossining now, Mt Kisco about to get it.
  14. 93/67 Heat wave on day 6. 12 of last 13 days 90+, 18 90+ days for the month, 22 total.
  15. LGA hit 90, now passing 2010 for most 90+ days for July. I would assume for any month as well.
  16. Heat milestones all over. DC has 32 straight 70+ lows for 3rd longest, approaching the record of 35 in 2016. They also broke the record of 90+ days in a month at 27, breaking the record of 25. I dont see LGA getting below 70 anytime soon, you think we make it to the top spot? I believe LGA is just short of most 90s in a month too?
  17. Mostly cloudy at times and temp mainly steady since mid morning around 85. Now up a little, 87/70.
