That matches the almost permanent snow band on radar. A drive on I 95 through NJ to cross bx, new england thruway, to CT and beyond.

Measured just short of 7" on the edge of Pelham Bay Park, Bx. Never quite reach that depth on paved surfaces though, more like around 4" on quiet streets, slush on busy ones. Still a winter wonderland if you're around any trees, pasted in several inches of heavy wet snow.

Snow slowed down briefly and road acclumations melted. Heavier snow is back and starting to coat roads again. Old snowpack and trees coated in about 5" of snow. Outside of a 20 min break, this snow band has been relentless.

Things escalated quickly. Mod to heavy snow, windy, 36. Only sticking to existing snow piles for now.

Its been milder than expected for days now. I was a little concerned it seem like a struggle to get below 40 last night. Now light snow, 37.

WSW for the possibility of 5" - 7"

Wow temps pushing 50 under filtered sun and lots of melting.

Around 2.5" I think, then mostly freezing rain. It was enough to end a record length between at least 0.5+" snowfalls. It was 709 days I believe. The Dec storm was a trace at the airport but some neighborhoods did get a little from that one.

Heavy snow. So windswept its hard to measure but but it was over 6" a few hrs ago so got to be getting close to 10 by now. near whiteout conditions.

Anyone know what the median snowfall is? Espically for the current 30 yr normals and the new normals coming out soon I saw somewhere the avg snowfall across the US is about 28", which would make NYC a very average place for snow. Of couse there is alot of ways to get to the same totals, I think it can be more feast or famine here near the coast compared to others regions. We avg more annual precip than alot of places so even though it feels like alot of pieces have to come together to get a good snowfall here, we get alot of opportunities. We're like a mediocre 3 pt shooter who gets alot of shots up. The midwest away from lake effect areas pile up snow more efficiently but efficient isnt always fun.

I hope they measure again before it compacts, periods of moderate snow continue through the morning. Right now it looks the best is just north and just south of midtown but they were under it earlier.

I saw news reports a little while ago saying 10" at Central Park. I haven't seen any offical NWS update after 1am with 6.5". 10" sounds reasonable. The wind makes it hard to measure but it looks about a foot give or take an inch here.

36, mainly flurries, occasional light snow. Looks like steady snow south of 125 St and into Qns/BK

ABC 7 summer outlook calls for summer to be on the dry side and temps above normal.

I was waiting for the Bronx one. It'll be interesting to compare to. I'm on the other side of the NYBG, just under 2 miles SE of Lehman.
