  1. Just hit 90 here. Dew 71..but probably inflated b/c of a very saturated backyard
  2. High of 84 but dropped real quick to 71 with rain and a Flood advisory here. Sunshine and 80s maybe 10 blocks south.
  3. Windy around the whitestone br. storm mainly along and north of fordham rd/pelham pkwy. Watch out around orchard beach, city island and adjacent waters.
  4. Sunshine with some brief drizzle/showers from time to time the last 30 mins. Theres a t storm around into upper manhattan, NW Bx. Has a special weather statement on it headed across the bx toward the Sound.
  5. I know right. Got to 66 here. Coolest temp of the month.
  6. Was in an uber with some flash flooding, the usual spots, bx river pkwy etc but some unusual ones too like a fast moving river down white plains rd. Been pretty relentless torrential downpours.
  7. Top of a ferry up the east river lots of lightning mainly to the NW. Also LGA has dissapeared in a matter of mins in a downpour. Headed into some rain now. Breathtaking vantage point of t storms all around but stayed dry overhead until the turn past the Triboro btwn LGA and the Bx
  8. Dew points getting up near 80 again, after missing a shower the suns back with oppressive humidity
  9. Never thought about that. I always attributed it to LGA getting more marine air on a NE wind right off the Sound, keeping it cooler. That's usually the few scenarios where i'd may be cooler than the Park, espically in Spring. Central Park, and espically JFK ends up the warmer places on a NE wind.
  10. The early heat wave predictions had a drop off but still continuing into Mon. Original outlook turning out more accurate.
  11. My ac is really struggling at moment. It already isnt that great when we have 95+ with 75+ dews.
  12. Con ed turned off power to 30,000 BK customers to prevent a much larger outage. Also some areas of reduced voltage, and asking customers in parts of the Bx to reduce usage as much as possible.
  13. Yeah I was kind of amazed at the sky, a purple to orange hue outside. Dont remember seeing it look quite like that before
  14. Maybe they will hold on. For now 95/76/108 with rumbles of thunder in the bx.
  15. The first one is fizzling out. Doesnt look like anything east of Paterson. A little more behind that one though. If nothing else its sending some increasing cloudiness this way.
  16. Severe T storm warning in northern NJ. I can see the towering clouds to the west
  17. I also suspect they like the wooded location in The Park because it's not that obvious to passerbys who made be tempted to vandalize it. In an open field its be very tempting in such a populated area. Did LGA hit 100 btwn hrs?
  18. 85/76/ 95 650am. Low 84 Damm LGA bearly squeak below 90 as of 6am
  19. Down slightly but still 90/78/103. Hot plus UHI as a bonus
  20. It is horrible outside. Why do I feel more uncomfortable outside now than in the daytime. Heat index still in the low 100s. Last update LGA still 93. The Park 90, JFK 89
  21. Those torrential downpours few days ago killed the chances.
  22. Yeah, I think dews are hard to measure exactly. Also, the biggest difference probably is most pws are in someone's backyard surrounded by vegetation or vegetable gardens etc. That said, in those same conditions I never seen much 78-80 dew until last few years. So even if it isnt exact to the degree, the trend is real.
