  1. Yeah I'm skeptical that it gets that warm around here. Maybe around 33, but based on what I know of my climo I don't see it crapping out like that. At least not in my part of the state. There could certainly be a sharp difference between here and Warwick, let alone further south.
  2. The Euro has a very warm coastal front messing up this storm for many of us in SNE, at least if you believe the surface temp projections. Up to 37 degrees at the height of the storm.
  3. Between that storm and March 2001, it was quite the nasty winter for him. But I remember the later years much better. PDII was among his best.
  4. GFS has been looking pathetic here for days, but apparently it is not very credible anymore. Between the main GFS and GFSv16, can the real GFS please stand?
  5. Looks like they’ve cut that down quite a bit now. It shouldn’t have been done, but it was very early, even before the watches were issued.
  6. How do you know that the forecast is “CRAP” or incompetent? Until the storm is already over, I don’t see how you have room to judge them like that. Especially since you haven’t given your own thoughts.
  7. Tuesday morning it just crushes the area. Definitely some MECS totals in play.
  8. I saw a coating on top of what fell yesterday. I don’t think it was 3/4” but I probably missed a few tenths.
  9. Ended up with right around 3”. It’s good to see winter making a return after weeks of boredom.
  10. It’s been coming down these past few hours. 2.5” and counting.
  11. Snow has gotten heavier. Very nice scene outside.
  12. Awesome. Hopefully that soon comes my way.
  13. Light snow just started. Radar looks good just to my west.
  14. That is quite an epic look. I saw my first New England HECS years before moving up here. I think I'm due for another
  15. I want to believe the Canadian models, but I’m thinking it will be around 2” IMBY.
  16. Wildcat has excellent views of Mt Washington on a sunny day, some of the best in all of New England, so for that reason alone I think it’s worth a trip some day. But for now it makes sense to stick to the Greens especially if they’re getting consistently buried.
  17. I'd imagine snow tires are essential especially where you live. I've driven with my regular all season tires on a few powder days in VT and NH, and I've struggled with traction a number of times especially when rates were heavy. It's not worth the stress.
  18. Sounds like that definitely compensates for their lack of snowfall. I've gotta make a trip there one day. The pics I've seen are breathtaking and it seems to be a very widespread favorite. Since I don't have the IKON pass, SR might even be worth the lift ticket prices after a good snowstorm.
  19. Wildcat was pretty good this past weekend. Not ideal but much better than a few weeks ago. Lots of very good runs, especially higher up. I've never been to Sunday River, though I hear a lot of good things about it including from you. Does SR really only average 150"?
  20. I will say that my trips to Stowe last year had much better conditions than Wildcat, but I am biased because those trips happened to be the two best weekends of the season, both with double digit totals of fresh powder.
  21. What are Wildcat’s weaknesses compared to better mountains? I’m relatively new to New England skiing so it helps to know what to look for.
