  1. Past hour
  2. 72 and completely fair skies / stars out - and a joyful crowd at Merriweather for King Gizzard backed by the national symphony. Great vibe here tonight.
  3. Looks like someone got their hands on some purple haze at Upton..
  4. I moved a piece of wood near my potted grafted apple and pear trees this evening and found 2 asian jumping worms under it. I'm pretty sure they came over in some Coast of Maine soil. Bummer
  5. Up to 1.14” so far today. Nice and slow also. .
  6. SST's matter. Overrated fine, but becomes underrated, especially if systems are "first-of-all"
  7. GFS handing out hurricanes to every major city on the East Coast and Gulf today like Oprah! You get a hurricane! You get a hurricane! You get a tropical storm!
  8. I want to see if we can get JFK to 20 90 degree days this year, there's only a select few years when that's happened.
  9. this is normal climo, when June 20 to the end of July is very hot, August tends to be less hot.
  10. Another beautiful morning. Low of 67, high of 85. Dew point made it above 70 today.
  11. That would be a big problem ... as it is right now the 7-day forecast for Western North Carolina is for rain every day, they sure as hell don't want to see anything from the tropics heading their way.

  18. Nothing more than poor man’s eye candy. At least the tropics are warming up. I do think we’re ripe if we keep this general summer pattern with repeated bouts of Atlantic ridging, but that becomes harder obviously as the seasonal change begins aloft in September. Everyone posts SSTs, but OHC is where it’s at. You need to keep high end tropical going as high end tropical for as long as you can along the coast. We’re not getting squat if a system is passing 150nm off Hatteras. It’s gotta tuck imo.
  19. And just like that the smoke is mostly gone.
  20. yea steering is all over the place in the GFS
  21. Yesterday
