  3. Nice rain for HoCo west of 29 this morning but mostly scraps for MBY.
  4. Wiz is headed to SE VT on Thursday afternoon on the 12z NAM
  5. Only 8 days due to the excessive tree growth over the sensors.
  6. it's wild that the rainiest day of the entire month had a high of 99. It would have been over 100 if not for that rain lol.
  7. Looks like EWR also had an 8 day streak of 95+, was that their longest? Maybe not, as July 1993 was hotter there, 5 consecutive days of 100+
  8. wild, 4 100+ days in just the first 13 days of the month lol By the way, it looks like it's going to be cloudy on Wednesday and more rain on Thursday? Looks like we won't see sunny weather until Friday? In a way it's a good thing as it will reset the pattern back to sunny weekends.

  10. The La Nina background pattern will be in full effect next week. One of the strongest Southeast Ridges on record for late June in the forecast. Could even rival the ridge and heat experienced in late June 2021. I would take a repeat of January 2022 in a second if we can get the Pacific Jet to back off a bit in coming seasons. But the current WPAC warm pool is still running near record levels.
  11. Thanks, 1944 really stands out wow, I wonder what was going on that summer to cause such intense prolonged heat (outside of that 11 year sunspot cycle lol.) 1944 must've been the hottest summer on record up to that point, I can't see any previous summer going back to the 1860s being as hot as 1944 was. 1896 did have that historic 10 day heatwave, but it didn't reach 100 degrees during that stretch.
  12. It's interesting that JFK and LGA had almost the same number of 95+ days in 2010, what was NYC's count Chris?
  13. I think it hastened it, but they also wanted out of that contract, too. I get it...I don't think he'll age particularly gracefully over 30.....
  14. LGA hit that mark on 7/3/1966 but Central Park only reached a measly 103 and the trees there are even bigger now.
  15. Nothing is proof of anything in A ball....which harkens back to the fact I would want a higher percentage yield trading a player of Dever's caliber. Not to mention they have sold us on "waiting until the youth is ready" to compete for several years, now once it arrives, they cut the teams legs out from underneath it.
  16. Looks increasingly likely that it turns hotter by Sunday. The NWS forecast has low 90s. I took a look at the most recent GFS run and, taken literally, it would suggest 90s Sunday-Friday. Obviously, not ready to commit to that forecast, but either way it should be a hot week. Hopefully, it will be drier as well, with all of the recent rainfall and flooding issues. A very soggy weekend for the US Open Championship at Oakmont.
  17. I disagree. Confident it has nothing to do with it, but we can agree to disagree. The Giants didn't opt to eat 250 million on a whim overnight, so the outcome of the series wasn't a factor- It wasn't a baseball decision.....the Sox decision to move him had nothing to do with wins and losses.
  18. Looks like hotter and drier weather is coming soon.
  19. You can see how the ASOS right on the bay at LGA held the 95° day count down there in 2010 with all the westerly flow compared to Mineola which was more inland away from the water. 20. Today
  21. high of 86F, low of 74F Aug 1944 had an average high of 88.0F, Aug 1988 had an average high of 87.0F
  22. I expect surf zone temps to be above normal by this time. Good surfing day might be this Friday with left over swell, incoming afternoon high tide and offshore winds, yippee !
  23. But we have a sports forum
  24. Maybe. But .255 babip, .857 ops, in 250ish ABs isn’t enough proof for me that he will be a failure…even if it’s A ball.
  25. In the end, they do not move him if he was a good teammate.
