It did get nice this evening. It's beautiful out right now. Late summer is definitely here.

I'm not so sure. Usually when we've gotten these cool stretches in August, September reminds us it's still summer. CPC's also going above for our area in September. I think we probably do get a mini heatwave, maybe 1-2 days of 90 with a bunch of upper 80 days.

No more 90 degrees, summer is over it's hard to have a hot day in September when it's been so cool in August (after that one heatwave I mean)

the AC is good to filter out bad air, I sometimes even turn it on during the winter as it helps keep my air clean. I haven't turned it on in the past 2 days but did turn on my space heater for a few hours each day. I have my fan on right now. If it's not hot (85 degrees or hotter), just turning on a fan will cool you down.

Our fig tree is now old enough to be producing like crazy. We have a different variety though, since ours don't turn purple.

Today I managed to make it all the way through the day without turning on the AC with the good breeze helping. Clouds came back like an hour after I wrote that which helped keep the house from getting too warm on the 2nd floor. I just wanted to avoid the AC for one day and the clouds were the only way I was going to pull it off.

The ECMWF weekly guidance shows almost coast-to-coast cool anomalies in the U.S. The Pacific Northwest and northwestern Canada would be much warmer than normal.

I’ve been getting the first thunderstorm since Sunday (8/27) since ~6:45PM in a band coming eastward that had collided with the sea-breeze front. Rain rates have been mainly moderate but with some heavy. Before this rain, I had already been up to a whopping 14.4” MTD!

About time to get the garden thread active, I guess. Been getting some figs. Varmints have bothered less than previous years.

Are we taking the over or under for 90 degrees at central park at some point in September. Climo says its roughly 50/50 but I'd think it'd be harder to achieve outside the first week of the month. That's usually when temps really start dropping.

We are approaching high tide at Dewey Beach and despite the storm moving away, the waves to me are the worst they've been to this point. Huge breakers rolling in and have reached the dune and walkways.

I have a cousin out there. She has indicated that the City has a lot to offer, including culture, history, and nature. However, she has increasingly complained about the rising heat.

It’s difficult for many of us who are cold and snow enthusiasts to understand why so many people choose to move to a place like Phoenix with such intense heat. I would enjoy visiting that region during some of the cooler times of the year since the Desert Southwest is one of the most beautiful parts of the country. You wonder how much more heat and drought it would take to actually slow the influx of new people into the area. In the mean time I hope they do all they can to try and expand the trees and shade.

Just an incredible stretch of weather for the next 7-10+ days . I ain’t mad about it.
