That was enjoyable for my first event out here...but the wind continues now

6” overnight at the base of the ski area.

Cool experience! Heavy, heavy snow for 10 minutes and still snowing moderately. Looked like a blizzard for a second out there. Hopefully we can get these rates in a coastal later this month. 0.1”!

For those who slept in heres a picture of the storm at its height for me. Wind was brutal plus legit heavy snowfall, first time ever I can remember seeing such a combination.

Wow that was awesome. Winds to at least 35 with crazy snowfall rates. Came in like a freight train. Worth getting up for. Heaviest snow I have seen in a long time.

Down to SN- and flurries and measured 3/4" from that squall dump! Temp currently 28 with dp 27. The rest of Jersey and down into central Delaware under the Warning -

This squall delivered, glad I haven’t gone to sleep yet. This could have been pretty bad if it was a normal work day…

Roads are a mess up here

-EPO is the coldest pattern Its precip is "ok". When there is a trough in the PNA region or Gulf of Alaska there is a big negative sea level pressure anomaly on the east coast from the Gulf of Mexico to Maine. But not epo, -EPO is more High pressure dominant Sometimes you will pop a low on the coast though

Picked up a tenth, wind was roaring.

RGEM and FV3 get another small batch of snow showers into SE PA overnight tonight. It just wants to snow this year.

That was fun. Now let's see if we can do that for several hours instead of 10 minutes!

Heavy snowy with winds blowing at 25+ mph.

A new year? A new TX thread. - Looking pretty warm with more widespread sig ridging influence across the central states (again), to start 2026. Euro and ensemble already going above 20 C on 850Mb temps (well above normal) in some spots the next several days. Which that alone leaves me with almost 0 doubt, more sfc temp records are going to be broken across much of the state once again. Along with even dryline influence invading the state as well from the west (more indicative of an early springlike zonal flow pattern). Which will only add more daytime high record-breaking fuel potential to this second (virtually inevitable now) winter heat wave. "Winter's over, ya'll!"

That was a more unique experience than I expected. Whipping wind the whole time with grapuel snow mix pelting me.
