Trace. I hate splotchy season

Franklin farm (south of Reston) got one of the nastiest splits I’ve seen. Storms were to the north and south slowing congealing to be on top of us and then more or less jumped just east into a line.

Almost reminds me of what happened in summer 2013. Prior to that year, the 3 years before (2010, 2011, and 2012) were very active Atlantic hurricane seasons and hot/dry summers in the East. 2013 was nearly the opposite: A very quiet Atlantic hurricane season and a record wet summer in the East, one that turned cold at the end of July in the Northeast (and was cold throughout the whole summer in the southeast). The difference between last year and this year is the Pacific is active this year, which is why I am more confident in a below average Atlantic hurricane season in 2025.

100%! I got so fed up with my monthly bill ageraging $230, I gave in, cut some trees and went with solar. If you do go with solar, but it outright, and oversize it. It will take 6 years to pay for itself. I have a 7 pitch rear roof (30º) that's 10 degrees west of due south, so almost ideal, but I still have neighbors trees that affect my production, especially in October. Since my installation, my meter has been on the positive side of 0 for a few months, but I'm currently at 99,335, and I'm at $295 in credit according to my last bill. If I can accurately calculate how much to use for heat, I shouldn't have another electric bill for as long as I live here.

Installing AC units is a PITA. Have you thought about a mini-split? I installed one for heat because my solar panels are overproducing, but it is so much better than window units and wasn't too difficult to install. I went with a Mr. Cool.

I hope nobody takes this the wrong way but if climate change has resulted in uneventful weather around here that may be the biggest tragedy here so far

We have been getting pummeled with rain today. 3.5 inches in the gauge and and its still shaking out sheets of rain. Training off of the N Indy to the dreaded Carmel area urban heat island off to the NNE all day. Line came through earlier and it dissipated except the train from N Indy to right over me. It just won't stop. Like the Pacers
