Everyone would agree with that. No one is claiming homogenization is always accurate. What homogenization is doing is gathering information that is dormant in the network of stations and adding that information to raw individual station data. Sharp changes at individual stations are visible against the backdrop of the network of stations, and this is information we want. This is what Chubbs is demonstrating directly in his examples.
