I don’t know, I think Tuesday and then Thursday could produce in some areas. Thursday may be best chance further east? But good trajectory especially on NAM. Good 850 theta e advection in Nam. -

That spring and summer climate is generally brutal . Ocean temps prohibit swimming and now it’s a huge drought area -
They must have just crossed over the Quinnipiac River/New Haven. Only saw them out your way in Milford, Orange, West Haven prior to seeing them here this summer.

I don't go out of my way to kill them but I just probably mowed over dozens of them cutting the grass. I have battled many invasive insects but the shear number of these fuckers is astounding. I have also been reading they are drastically changing the taste of the local honey.

Sorghum is supposed to be drought- and heat-tolerant, the fact that it’s down 24% this year in France is alarming. Hopefully there are more heat-tolerant strains available that they haven’t tried there yet. -

CON’s earliest freeze on record was 32° at midnight. It fell to 29° by morning for their all-time August record. 7+ hours at or below freezing in August…brutal. -

Pit2 is about 33 miles NE from PWM and 15 miles up the Kennebec estuary, which is mostly fresh water that far up - only when all the rivers feeding Merrymeeting Bay are very low does muc salt gets there. PWM is 2 miles from Casco Bay, and its 1991-2020 norm is 69". 2001-30 so far is 65", both close to ORH. Pit2 probably gets 5-10" more than the Jetport, though I'm not sure it beats ORH for retention. -
Cant trust long or even mid term heck even short term models given their failure the last 6 weeks

It SEEMS (and I hope) that starting Friday we enter a nice late summer pattern featuring upper 70's and low 80's with fair weather.

2026-2027 Record-breaking El Nino

Perfectly stated. Ive noticed its very common with some to make winters of yesterday seem harsher than they were, winters of today seem less harsh than they are, and use all-time severe winters as baseline for "typical" cold. Its funny to see so much pushback by some in admitting last winter was cold. Mind you, this a winter expected to be very mild by these same folks. Since it was cold, all we hear is "it was record warm in the west" "this used to be the norm" (it did not) "it was colder in the 1970s" (who said it wasnt?) etc etc etc -
Had a brief downpour around lunch. Ruined the chance to mow. Hoping tomorrow will be dry.
