Never thought much of it but it makes sense 1938 and 1950 were actually on-par for inland winds, just the foliage difference. MWN had similar winds iirc and for mixing and etc. subtleties, they probably weren't far off. '38 probably had tors and microbursts that would maybe be more damaging

The great thing about excessive tides is the water gets pushed up the road drains! I love to watch that while blasting Playboi Carti and The Weeknd! You got to enjoy the sheer thrill of watching the water levels rise!

Yes we easily gusted 70mph in 2010 (Bedford, NH). Maybe higher but it was difficult to tell because I was inside and iirc it was roughly 10pm-2am. Could hear large trees falling. No power for 10 days. But 1950 adds at least 20-30mph on top

Li'l convection cells over Weymouth! Make sense given the occlusion and instability. HRRR shows 200-500 CAPE overnight in far ern MA and RI. As I tried to point out to @CoastalWx earlier, offshore SSTs are near climo peak and 2-4 C above avg! Not your typical Nor'easter SSTs! 00z HRRR gives another widespread 1-2" for much of region w/ a max of 3" near PVD and another 3" max wrn ME. Spot 10" seems likely in sern MA.

You know what REALLY gets my goat? Four Corners gets to have life-threatening rains from Polo AND Odalys! Of course I don't get to have shyte. I get to have sunshine and more fookin' HOT WEATHER and I am sick of this nonsense! I am SICK OF IT! I'm SICK OF IT! I am SICK TO DEATH of no rain and hot! I want chilly and waterworld rains!

Feb 2010 was among the best, at least for NE MA, NH, swrn ME However, and @ineedsnow would pass out from ecstasy from this, look at Nov 1950. Truly exceptional for winds inland. What really stood out from the sustained winds well inland. Something like that today would rival power outages equivalent to a 1938 HU. The only thing mitigating it would be less leaves on the trees.

Build better heights in Greenland and we're golden.
