I get it...we all have some degree of dissatisfaction with our lives, but it's not my fault you failed to thrive in the field that you supposedly love, and eat tacos by yourself in a closet on Xmas eve....either see a &ucking shrink, or get lost.

4th day in a row of lows in the upper 20s and highs in the low/mid 70s. Now I know what it's like to live in Ely lol.
-
Absolutely. Guy is unreal. Hard to believe a guy can be that miserable. I absolutely abhor when he posts in our New England forum. Please, just stay in the NYC forum so we don’t have to see any of his trash.

Josephine comes a day after my peak season period forecast ended, so it won’t count in my Aug 20 - Oct 20 tally.

I'm still waiting on seeing your outlook verification from last year. -
I really don't understand why you are constantly such an a$$hole...my god, is your existence that meager and unfulfilling? Christ, I'd have swallowed a wet spark-plug by now if I were in your state of mind.

2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season
Boston Bulldog replied to Stormchaserchuck1's topic in Tropical Headquarters
From deep in the archives of weather.gov: https://www.weather.gov/source/zhu/ZHU_Training_Page/tropical_stuff/sub_extra_tropical/subtropical.htm "There is no such thing as a subtropical hurricane. If a subtropical storm intensifies enough to have hurricane force winds, than it must have become fully tropical." Now I will say I do not agree with this logic! 74mph automatically meaning fully tropical hurricane for a subtropical system makes absolutely zero sense. I am rooting for Josephine to get to 75mph now, this may have exposed a chink in the classification armor that went unnoticed for decades. To further muddy the waters, there was a subtropical storm that achieved hurricane intensity in 1979, and this was maintained as Subtropical Storm One. It is unclear if this was designated as a STS operationally or after the season ended: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1979_Atlantic_hurricane_season#Subtropical_Storm_One -
2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season

Surfs good, the best day should be tomorrow. Being south facing the waves are smaller then the rest of the east coast but the winds are offshore. You can see NHC has this as a 80kt post trop extratropical system. Sandy was similar. The east coast really doged a bullet here that it is move out to sea . -
Was gorgeous here…61 and sunny. Inland can have its advantages.

Yup, Sun’s weak now…and getting weaker by the day.

Shit! I don’t mid-station. Had to look up an old ski map. The 1st time I skied there was in 1986. Yeah, I made my dad ski Outer Limits. I was 11.
-
1. For you: How’s the surf in your area? 2. For all: Can a subtropical cyclone attain hurricane force winds but still not be classified as tropical? We know there are ST depressions and storms, but I’ve never heard of a subtropical H. Why not?

Phenomenal stretch of days. Hard freeze starts in the 20s and goes to 60F under cloudless skies. It is crazy how this time of year there can still be frost in the shade at like 11am despite it closing in on like 50F outside.
-
Thats all I have is white oaks. The bark is very different from a red oak. They are great for fire wood and floors. Thats about it. They make a mess in the yard.
-
Not a good day. Cloudy and pretty breezy all day. Mid 50s at best. Offshore storm making itself known the last couple of days.

2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season

Absolutely. You can see the fronts are gone in Josephine. But the convention is not particularly deep near the center. It also has a relatively large area of tropical storm force winds in the northern quadrant (gradient driven) . -
Severe weather outbreak in progress in central AZ. Could be another huge night in these parts as well. Only had to go 3,000 miles and wait 13 months for severe weather

Hope all those weather hypers on social media study this system. This is what a STS looks like. Not that nor Easter last time -
I don't think it's going to be a black and white El Nino event.
