  1. Past hour
  2. I sure hope not! Wanted to get down there to tour it before Trump shuts it down.
  3. Pittsburgh officially topped out at 86F today, which was 1F cooler than the scorching 87F reading observed last year on this date. In the case of last year, the early June heat was certainly a harbinger of what was to come in the temperature department! Last summer went into the books as tied for 8th warmest in the threaded record, and 2nd warmest (behind 1995) at the airport. The 24 days of 90+ readings were topped only twice since records moved to the airport site in September 1952 (38, in 1988; and 27, in 1995). Can 2025 match those lofty values? Probably not, but we shall see!
  4. What an abrupt change! Record to near record warmth in spots today! Altoona reached 89F, easily surpassing the daily record of 86F from 1971 & 2024. New Philadelphia, Ohio topped out at 88F, just 1F shy of the record of 89F set way back in 1948!
  5. Incredible swing, with record-breaking warmth in spots. Altoona (with records dating to 1948) topped out at a scorching 89F, easily surpassing the daily record of 86F set in 1971 & 2024. Several other sites were within 1-3F of records today.
  6. Still cloudy Saturday though. Guess it’s fine given how low our expectations have gotten after the past month of weekends.
  7. I wouldn't say it's totally backing off but there's a nice area of relatively dry weather that's showing up on the globals and the ensembles, but it's been fluctuating in size and location last few days. Let's see if it sticks.
  8. We finished the driveway with tar paint. Thankfully the showers were over the high peaks this afternoon. It looks noisy the next few days!
  9. And it was a hiccup because while I was googling it came back up! Was down for several minutes...
  10. Did the Storm Prediction Center get shut down? Or just an outage? Wanted to look at the HREF and got this...
  11. Have the air on but debating whether to turn off or leave on; it’s slightly humid out but temp outside will be much lower thaw hat my air is set to
  12. I bet the PWS is right. Just different settings between a wide open airfield and areas with more vegetation where people live. More evapotranspiration. Dews are a bit higher, temps a bit lower. I think your PWS is fine.
  13. its not hard at all just go for it I think its 5 bucks to drive up but we get a annual DCR pass for 60 and we can park at a crap load of places including Salisbury beach which is nice.. it pays for itself in about month if you go to alot of places.. Enjoy your time and hope you get a good view of Boston tomorrow

  19. What does Friday look like in Beverly? Hippie is looking for a forecast.
  20. The weekend looks mainly dry in SNE. Models really backing off on anything
  21. you hiking up or driving.? Either is fun though with great views
  22. Have you got out yet? Got a tee time for noon at highfields on Sunday. I know it's very unlikely and it's a hike for you but I thought I'd throw it out there.
  23. Yea, usually the cool phases last a bit longer....it could spill into the next decade a bit...but it won't be as extreme....long term trend line will def. be lifting.
