There's been no heat dome here since the middle of July.

The was the massive Atlantic ridge >594 DM parked off the Atlantic all of last week a bit to east to bring the persistent mid 90s + and strong heat has been capped since the 14th of July in the area.

Slight Risk of Severe has been expanded by SPC east into our area - also that area of showers/storms in eastern PA is not the main event - look further west in eastern Ohio - also expect additional pop ups to develop starting at some point this afternoon when the atmosphere has had enough and needs to develop storms........who gets what and where lines of storms develop is the # 1 question

# 1 threat with these storms this afternoon is the wind - usually strongest right at the beginning of the storm unless one is in an MCS complex where it lasts most of the storm

Looks like Middlesex on south for that first one

its shrinking as it moves east - also there are no severe warnings with it

SPC about 2 hours ago thought a watch was possible but no watch has been issued

Looks like 23-01z.  Some models suggest activity tomorrow well north of the mid-Atlantic activity, likely keying in on a boundary or subtle shortwave but I'm thinking tomorrow is dry

main line comes through this evening BUT some areas MIGHT experience a pop up storm prior IMO

seems like the line is weakening west of us BUT the AFD mentioned this and said it will probably restrengthen - I think they are waiting to see it it does before issuing a Watch here

It can continue weakening as far as I'm concerned, I've had my fill of storms this summer, not that mother nature cares about how any of us feel. But yes, we will see if they start building again.

agreed - too many power outages in the area and too many close calls with CTG lightning strikes and the flooding

88 with a dewpoint of 65 here right now. At least the humidity isn't terrible today.

is the dew point from your weather station ? I looked on Weather Underground and there is a wide range of dew points from 65 up to 75 area wide

Yeah my area a little west of NYC usually has one of the lower dewpoints in the tri-state. Newark has a dewpoint of only 65 right now too.

Weather Underground is not that reliable some of those stations have crazy low or high numbers.  Seems like the line in central - eastern PA is splitting no warnings in the northern half above Harrisburg
