[Superstorm]

Dang... warning just issued with the statement indicating that the storm is located in Maytown. Can't remember the last time this happened. 
Pouring rain, loud thunder and very little wind. .71" in the bucket and adding on fast. Already the heaviest total this summer here.

Those storms may be training over you.

I ended up with 1.79" from that cell. Sitting just outside of it now.

It’s insane over here. Bad situation. Hard to tell what I’m at, as my automated gauge isn’t working, but cylinder gauge looks to be around maybe 4”. Just won’t quit.

Holy crap. 

The Rt. 30 corridor...some areas are approaching 6" if not even more. You are just inside the worst, I'm just outside. I'm perfectly content with the 2" that fell here.

We're rebounding pretty quickly in cpa here this afternoon.Every time I look, there's a couple hundred more j/kg

I saw on the news one of the local weather folks mentioning we are about to see our 6th "Heatwave" which is a stat that defines a Heatwave of at least 3 consecutive days over 90 degrees. While the news always just sources the Philadelphia International Airport....out here where we live in Chester County only 1 station at Phoenixville has reported even 3 heatwaves this summer with all other stations only 1 or 2 "Heatwaves". As you can see below the frequency of heat waves here in Chester County has in reality been decreasing over the last 14 decades as the below chart which is normalized "per 100 station-years" because the number of active stations has grown sharply over time clearly shows.

Got 1.31" from yesterday's storms. The rain was incredibly intense at times in that afternoon storm. Windshield wipers on high speed couldn't keep up. I got the truck parked before the worst hit (I still got soaked going from the truck to the shop and then the car, though), but the ride home in the car was intense with the rain and the flooded roads.

Only .14 rain here. Had a lightning strike here yesterday  somewhere very close to the house that shook the house.  while the sun was out just as those thunderstorms were forming. The creek reflects the flash flood warning that was posted just to the east of me yesterday afternoon.

A batch of showers is moving across Western PA and may bring some morning showers/isolated thunder to Central PA. Development of thunderstorms is once again expected in the afternoon, which brings a Marginal (level 1/5) risk for severe weather and excessive rainfall.

Picked .40” of rain overnight, will have to go out and check my manual rain gauge later on.

Um holy crap guys. Carrying my gauge in this morning I quickly realized that I way under estimated how much I got. After meticulously measuring it all out, the total came to 7.52”! I was truly in the heart of the most intense action and believe this to be the highest total in the state yesterday. I’ve not yet found anything on NWS, WU, or Cocorahs even approaching this amount. Please let me know if you find any totals this high. Wow, what a day!

Guess you won’t have to worry about watering for a few days.

Been a summer to Remember with all these near misses,then out of nowhere these heavy storms that just dump half foot of rain.

I still wonder how much of your 7.52 ended up being runoff?

I believe you. Marietta had 5.8” iirc and you were sitting under it longer.
