Powerball
Those Detroit storms literally just popped up out of nowhere. Turning into a Flash Food situation even (not necessarily a bad thing with how dry that area's been).
TheNiño
There could be a flash flooding risk in the Milwaukee area Thurs night into fri morning. Just cloud cover and maybe some sprinkles, but that will knock down temps briefly until the weekend. It was the 3rd top 10 hottest Summer and 4th top 20 hottest Summer though within the past 5 years...

I hope nobody got hurt It started to rain heavily here with several lightning bolts in the clouds, 20-40mph wind gusts, a few (minor?) wind reports around Toledo, including a tree down in the downtown Toledo area. Low bits of clouds were moving quick with the onset of the storm, like 40mph or more.

Powerball
Mary Sheffield (Detroit's mayor) says the NWS informed her privately it was a tornado, although their final official public report along with the rating is still pending. This is the first tornado to touch down in Detroit proper since the historic July 1997 outbreak. At the very least, I'm thinking EF-1 (possibly EF-2).
