We’ve had 5 snow days and 2 delayed starts already at my kids school. I’m at 3.7” of snow/sleet for the year, so more snow days than inches of snow received. There will be no surprise if they cancel school, again, tomorrow. This is putting a lot of strain on my wife and I’s jobs

I still think there is a decent jackpot somewhere within the banding this evening, likely from the I-40 corridor to SE Virginia. Most hi res modeling shows this to some degree and I think there’s a chance it might be under modeled as it will be localized. Think most areas see flurries but accumulating snow will be limited to wherever the band/bands set up. Would not surprise me at all to see some 3” reports tomorrow morning anywhere in that area

N and West of 85 looking pretty dry. My gut is somewhere between Raleigh/Rocky Mount/Greenville will do well as well as the northern foothills. Hires models this morning have trended in that direction as well

We are relying on lift from the WAA to wring moisture out after the frontal passage. Since our system remains weak, it only will produce light precip

Orange County schools haven't been in session since January 23rd.  This is their 8th snow day in a row.

I'm skeptical with amount of sunshine peeking thru and current temps for much in the way of snow----limited window for precip changeover.   I have jumped to 44 here near Winston Salem.

I am driving from NY to Charlotte tomorrow early AM ( leaving like 5am ) and I have done the trip many times but never when the threat of snow was looming can any of you guys or gals tell me IF I am in for trouble when I get to those mountains in NC or Virginia ( taking 81 to 77)  do they salt those Roads well during minor events such as these ----also I am hoping that IF any snow does fall that it is over by the time I get to that neck of the woods ?  Thanks in advance

I’m down here in Danville off 86/29 and let me tell you, despite brining and sanding heavily while plowing we still have lots of ice covered residentials. Growing up in NJ, the plan here seems like brine and let it melt.
