We are officially past doubling down in blackjack. We have achieved a Hard Way in craps. Pays more.

It’s the one we’ve been waiting years for.  The south and east of I-81 crowd can finally claim victory!  Enjoy!!

Two inches East Brainerd. Light snow continues.

Ended up w/ about 6" of snow here in west Kingsport.  Had to run an errand this morning - had 5" of snow prior to leaving.  I81 is one lane(meaning two tire tracks for that one lane) and is sketchy at times, especially off amps and on ramps - deep snow.  Nothing has been plowed yet.  I26 is a mess as well.   The main arteries in Kingsport have not been plowed, but some side roads have been.  If you get under a snow band, visibility drops to about a quarter or eighth of a mile.  Overall, roads are in pretty awful shape.  4WD, all wheel drive, or front wheel driver recommended.  Temps are frigid.

I noticed you said, ended up with? Am I missing something? Radar is still lit and NOAA and Weather Channel show snow lasting till late tonight.

US-19 at Lebanon. This is the best the road has looked. 10F per car thermometer. Would not recommend travel but I'm done driving... for now

:damage:

Edit: Last measurement in Honaker I got it was 6 inches on the pavement. Looks about on par in Lebanon. The sky is milk and flakes are the smallest I have ever seen.

I see the OB is snow and blowing snow in Chattanooga, temp 18. How often do you guys see that?
Normally at 18°, it's bone dry with zero snow. Very happy with the event. It must have came down pretty hard early on. My neighbor said he went to bed at 3AM and nothing except for the quick burst at 7PM. I feel like Ooltewah overachieved. Not too far to my west, maybe 5 miles, reports of around 1" are common. We had a.pretty solid 3" here. Might be 2 1/2. Very difficult earlier measuring every 30 minutes with the wind whipping like it is.

Juat started a light snow shower again. This is squeezing out every drop of moisture.

Light snow still falling here but at this point I think we're about done as far as accumulation goes. Measured 3.7 inches which was almost dead on with what most of the models had predicted for my backyard, snowfall gradient and all. It was nice to see the foothills and NE TN get a good storm and that the whole valley seemed to get at least some snow

Glad to see the Chattanooga crew score!!!
Thanks Carver. We bought this house in June 2016. This is the 1st snow we've had where temps actually went below freezing. Every one we've had were melted off by the end of the day, or the 1 last January 10th, 2025 where temps rose to 33° when the snow ended. It was melted off the next morning.

NW flow has kicked in. It is absolutely puking in the snow at my house, potentially the biggest flakes and the heaviest I’ve seen so far and it’s not on radar. So I’m guessing this streamer coming down through East Knox County is really laying it down since it’s being picked up by the radar.

We are getting heavy snow again at the moment.

I went for a walk and I was like "wait a second, is it snowing harder or is it just me" haha. The snowflake size has increased, the dbz on the weather.gov radar doesn't show anything different but it's definitely picked up a bit on and off

Yeah, it really started dumping, but I think we are transitioning to the more NW flow part of the storm.
