It looks like at H5 the kicker dropping in from Canada has kind of ended up sweeping everything, including the Baja wave, out north and east. All that spawns a gulf low, but nothing too wound up. Just a massive load of moisture overrunning and what the New England weenies call a southwest flow event. It doesn’t all ever really phase so much as it just keeps truckin.

Does that change your thinking?

16° (up from 14° earlier)

heavy snow (up from moderate earlier)

very fine snow (same all day no fat flakes)

humidity 85% (up from 71% earlier)

dew point 12 (up from 6° earlier)

looking at a huge dry slot to the west over Arkansas confused about what’s going to happen bc nothing from here bc no models are in agreeance and I also feel like what’s happening isn’t what was modeled?

My auto immunes are VERY unhappy and I am incredibly swollen. My today very veiny feet in which you can typically see each bone and numerous veins are wildly swollen and inflamed - looks like I blew up one of those gloves at the drs office, skin feels tight, hands are starting to feel the same. Anyone else in here have auto immunes and dealing with any weather induced side effects?

Edited to add: forgot to mention snow amount - we’re up to 4.5 inches.
edited to add again: we’re in Clarksville.

My Ra has been horrible due to this storm, could’t use either hand yesterday due to to pain and swelling. Looks like the size of the storm has a lot to do with how bad I get.
my sympathies to you, I know what you’re going through. I hope you feel better soon.

Flake size staying around nickel at best but lots of them now. Very high ratio powder.

About the best contrast I have is taking a photo towards a vehicle. Curious if the big flakes come right before sleet or not.

Here they got big and went straight to freezing rain. But that still took maybe an hour.

Not really. I was pretty well committed to about what I’ve seen so far. Light snow to sleet and now freezing rain. I guess it is just a waiting game to see how much accrues.

I was just posting the radar pic in TX because of how convective the precip looked. Maybe an area that manages to hold on to lower temps longer gets some thunder ZR lol!

Out of nowhere it went from heavy fine snow to nearly nothing.

looking at radar it is hard to believe there will be a “wave 2” - we’re definitely sure that this is a long term event lasting until Sunday?

No one ever mentioned that we’d be without precipitation at all at any point where I’m located so I’m just a little confused honestly.

That’s exactly what I have. RA, and a few others but the RA is whooping my ASS right now. I have to be level or everything nearly immediately swells up big time. It’s still swollen flat but not as bad.

I’m so sorry that you have any idea of what I’m going through let alone exactly. Prayers with you that this gets up outta here ASAP.

What I looked at has generally been two waves.  The GFS has a constant stream of moisture on a few of its runs.  Most other models...There is the lead out wave, and then whatever forms in Texas.

Yea, all of that precip out in Texas and Oklahoma has yet to come through here

Crazy. We went from forecast mix turning to rain with temps rising to mid-upper 30's today. Instead, we had a front end thump, now 7 hours of dry, minus a few minutes of sleet. Temp is only 29° here. Dry as a bone. I think when/if precip starts back, it will be frozen for maybe 1 hour. Warm nose is overhead, but can't push through the cold, dry air. Once the dome breaks, we'll have a lot of rain. Crazy we had precipitation and then went through Virginia after snow, sleet started.

This is correct. Wave two should bring in a surge of warmth in the upper levels.  Surface in Clarksville will remain below freezing I'd think.

Not being mean, but I think I would be seeing a doctor.

HRRR sees the break out near Clarksville and points west, but seems to want to fill precip. back in quickly as the evening wears on. I'm not sure it will fill back in as quickly as the HRRR thinks, but I'm 100% sure there is more coming when the second slug of moisture back in TX starts to swing though around daybreak tomorrow.
