This summer has been cruel and it looks like that will continue. Just shoot me now.

Last chance of rain likely for the month today and I’m sitting about 3” below normal (just 1.52”). If we don’t get a flood today (unlikely) then that will be 11 of last 12 months BN precipitation here. Only saving grace is we received about 4 months worth of rain in July!

We got missed entirely the last two days.

I hope this upcoming week is the last throws of summer! I’m ready to drink an Oktoberfest and it don’t feel right to drink that when it 100 outside. Anyway, AN and possibly records broken this upcoming week.

I drank two the other night. I turned the air down to 66 and closed the blinds. Worked like charm.

I was surprised to find that the last time GSO exceeded 95 in September was in 1990. Seems likely we will do so this week. If we manage to hit 98 it will be the first time since 1975 and 99, the first time since 1954

Wow.  Didn’t remember 1990 being that hot. My wife and I had our first date at Clemson’s opening game that season.  Guess I was smitten

GSO’s average high is below 85 now, so reaching 95 is a huge deal!

It was a very brief heatwave that occurred later in the month. 1921 on the other hand!

The CanSIPS monthly model run recently came out for September and it is still indicating lower heights generally in December thru March centering generally in lower Mississippi valley-----extending east.  What is interesting is the last 3 runs or so have lowered heights some in the same general area.  What that means at this point?  Hard to say, but if you also look at precip for same period, it continues to show a possible active storm track, which includes the Carolinas.

Also of note, the record max-min (highest low temp) for GSO in the month of September is 74 and our forecast low for Wed/Thurs night is set to break that (75 and 76 per NWS forecast)
