Another below normal day in Boston, the 11th straight . Was hoping we would get some extended heat in here to close out the summer but it seems pretty much confined to cow pastures. Can we get a heat warning?

".SYNOPSIS...
High pressure off the coast will bring increasing heat and humidity through mid week, but it will not be as oppressive as it was earlier in the summer. An isolated thunderstorm is possible late Wednesday across western portions of MA and CT. Then not as hot Thursday, along with scattered showers or thunderstorms, as a cold front moves through. Drier weather follows Friday into next weekend."

"Increasing SW flow brings somewhat more humid air into region, but not as oppressive as what we experienced earlier in summer. Also, with solar summer behind us (90 days of highest sun angle from early May to early Aug), the heat is not as intense as June and July. In addition, gradient remains weak enough to allow for some relief along both coasts, in the form of afternoon sea breezes. Thus, despite the combination of highs in low to mid 90s inland and dewpoints climbing into mid 60s, the heat index likely remains headline criteria."

We're looking at 4 or 5 days of 90 to 94 type heat wave which began today for many front yards and towns but will be more convincing tomorrow through Thursday.

Euro agrees with your assessment thereafter with heat returning over the weekend.   Too early for confidence but it even soars Monday the 18th to 101 at Lawrence, MA otherwise a lot of 99's at all typical sites on the day.   Aug 18 isn''t too late for that sort of thing, but it is nearing the climate drop off.

I'll take the under on 101 in Lawrence on the 18th.

Absolute furnace up here in NVT and NNH ASOS stations today…

BTV… 95F

MVL… 93F

HIE… 92F

BML… 92F

Not bad for the last three sites at 750-1100ft.

Living up in rarified air makes living torches to their greatness fleeting.

It’s crazy it can be 36-42F for a min, or 90-95F for a max this time of year.

But this is some high end heat up here and today was supposed to be cooler than the next two days.

Looks like we got to 89F here.  I was down in RI all day so missed it. House is pretty warm so AC has been turned back on.

Oh you got to 89F there?  That's pretty legit warm.

I read kdxken's posts and thought it was below normal and cool down there.

Largest population of Massachusetts doesn't live in hubbardston.

HubbDave's high temp looks fairly indicative of the SNE highs?

Wonder if the leaves are changing on Nantucket with a high of only 73F though...
