E PA/NJ/DE Summer 2025 Obs/Discussion

Recommended Posts

My rain rates have gradually increased to almost 1"/hr give or take, as the heaviest, and now back down to about 1/3"/hr and currently have 0.53" in the bucket at post time.  Temp down to 74 with dp 73.  Most of the current heavier returns have moved to my east.

Looks like a TOR up in DE.

Sharp cutoff above 78 with the precip. Had a few drops here in whitehall.

Lower Macungie and only had 0.17. I am shocked we have not gotten torrential rains over the last few days in this soup, but the bands have setup elsewhere. I am over 2” for the month but relatively little recently.

Looks like another tornado warning down in Sussex County Delaware Moving NE towards Delaware Bay currently.  Thats an impressive line down to our south. Looks like a mesoscale low just south of the Delaware Memorial Bridge moving NE at 20 mph or so.

Yep and now watch out in NJ. Tornado warning for Ocean County until 11:30.

Total for the evening here was 3.52". Someone else's turn tomorrow, lol.

Still waiting for my turn!  lol.  Picked up 0.46" which is, oddly, exactly the same as yesterday.  So, 0.92" over two days is great, especially for all the brown foliage, but... I am requesting mayhem.  Just once this year?

You sound just like me. I know it's probably wrong, but I want my turn with a true severe event with flooding rains, wind, and strobe like lightning. Just like in winter with snow, I want to get dumped on. I'm a "go big, or go home" type of weather weenie...lol

Large differences as usual in these set ups regarding rain amounts yesterday - Kennett Square 3.88" / Longwood Gardens 2.05" / East Nantmeal 0.35" / Chester Springs 0.24" / Devault 0.41" / West Bradford 1.38" / Nottingham 0.33" / Warwick 0.28" / West Grove 2.71". We should see a reduction in heavy rain over the next week but still some rain chances most days. The warmest couple of days look to be both Friday and Saturday in the mid to upper 80's before we fall back to closer to normal next week with highs in the middle 80's.

Happy Friday! We continue our stretch of warm and humid weather with chances of at least some rain on most days. No total washouts but our best chances of rain look to be from Sunday night through Monday. We should continue to run a few degrees above normal with highs in the mid to upper 80's with maybe a couple lower valley spots touching 90 some days. Still no sign of any widespread sustained 90-degree heat in our future through much of the remainder of July!
