Got some storms starting to fire as far west as my area now. This one was rolling in from the wnw: 

 

This one is over Oak Ridge and Hardin Valley:

 

Nothing severe down here, but these suckers went up quick. I was doing yard work and checking out the clouds and nothing could seem to break the cap, although there must have been some lower level mixing with occasional decent wind gusts.

Caught a debris ball, I think, for the Greene county storm:

This is a picture looking into the supercell’s Wall Cloud in Greene County from the perspective of Mosheim which later spawned a (debris radar confirmed) tornado near the base of Viking Mountain and Margarette Falls.

I tried to catch it on TDOT cameras, but the closest one "Dark Hollow Rd" was aimed north at the time. 

 

 

 

Definitely shredded it.  It got its act together again around I-81…just west of the winter twilight zone where snow bands reform on NW flow.

I drove through the storm from Kingsport to Blountville and that was probably the worst storm I have drove through. I could barely see in front of vehicle and lightning was peppering down left and right. Geez that couplet in Greeneville was the real deal.

That's go to Crossville and ask questions later. Official does not get down there, but it's only 90 minutes for me to get up there. If the line really does re-develop east of Nashville, that's prime for it to reach the Plateau as it's maturing. That part of Kentucky is doable too, but farther to drive. Doable is relative in the South - some breaks vs straight forest and mountains.

Maybe @KakashiHatake2000. Their afternoon text mentions conditional instability. Might come south a wee bit if the temp fcst gets warmer, but the turning is better north. I also infer they thought about 5% up there in Kentucky or IN/OH near the TP, but held off. Probably a Day 1 call this time of year. Things are not synoptically evident Day 2 in meso-scale season. If time were not an issue, Dayton OH would be a lovely starting point.
