Everything seems to be lining up for this to be a pretty epic storm for Ohio, with almost the entire state seeing 6"+ and a thick swath of 12-18" looking likely. All models really locking in today, the only question is how quickly mixing punches into SE OH. This will definitely be the biggest snow for the state (overall) since the February 5-6, 2010 storm and will not be far off from that one.

This is absolutely wild to me. Under 10" makes top 5 for single day snowfall in CMH. Im also surprised PD2 isnt on here. I know in Coshocton county, we got nearly 20" from that one.

It is the single day thing.  Several storms span midnight so you would have to look at multi-day to get the full picture.

Yup it should be in a 24 hour period or as a single event.  March 08 was around 22” in 24 hours and PD03 was a biggie also around 15” but it came in 2 parts with about a 12 hour lull in the middle.

surprised at that 11.6 yesterday.  Definitely about 14-15 my

Disagree. I couldn't care less if we're above normal when its 1" here and 1" there. That doesn't equate to a good winter. We have had 1 decent snowfall of 5" in November, aside that its been mostly garbage. Do you need further proof than the fact I was the first post here since December 3rd? Lol

With this most recent storm, Columbus has now recorded more snow through today's date than every winter since 1996, except for 2014! We literally may never see another winter like this in our lifetime. Note rankings below are for the airport site only.

Well of course we got over a foot of snow lol. Thats nearly half the average. But before this most recent storm... Look im not one that looks at 20 1/2" dusting as "well 10" so far is pretty good". Yes, it adds to the yearly total, but it isnt remembered and certainly doesn't equate to what a snow lover would call a good winter. This last storm, that was good.

Random question.. do you remember the guy that was from Paducah years back. He built a weather tower on his property and everything. Was super smart. I talked to him a lot back in the day and then he just disappeared. Used to be active all the time, I'd say back in 2012-13
