Man I was really rooting for you guys on this one. I was jealous for a good while since we moved 3 months ago down here. Starting to look like maybe even 2 inches is a stretch followed by a buttload of ice. I guess it really cannot snow huge amounts there anymore... I was telling my mom to stock up on a bunch of stuff earlier this week, now I'm glad I did for the ice that will happen but dang...

3-6"-Then hopefully more sleet than frz rain. Super cold too.

Probably looking at 4.5 is my guess right now. Hard to say. If changeover is later or sooner all models could be wrong. That could change a lot of stuff. I mean I can see one inch or 8 at this point. Lol

0z Euro was worse for Richmond vs 18z. Shame. Honestly, best scenario might be the NAM sleet over ice

NWS mentions snow

Wednesday Night
A chance of snow after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 20. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Thursday
A chance of snow. Partly sunny, with a high near 32. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

The NWS ticked down the ice totals for Richmond, down to a range of .25”—.50”.

That’s not for nothing, and could be the difference between a few days of recovery in the city and a week.

Hoping that’s a trend that continues now that we’re basically in nowcasting mode.

Seeing TN all snow on the radar should be a positive- models have mix for a lot of areas that are still snow

The sleet line looks like it’s just south of Murfreesboro, TN right now. Can’t tell if it’s slowly drifting north or just sliding east.

Dude, it's cold out there. Like 21. I just can't imagije anything other than snow can fall at such temps.

33 years of life here. The thing I can't get past is the snow falling at night. That's the thing that makes me question a changeover at like 3 or 4 am.

A computer tells you it will rain while temps are 25. Are you going to believe it? I don't. I would have to see it with my own eyes. Until then I assume there has been a flaw or error. That's my gut here.

lol allot of people can’t imagine it.. It’s why many are so wrong & the computer is right.
Again, it’s what is going on aloft… (not just the temperature at the surface)

Cold air damming (between the mountains & our area is what we want to rout for.. The longer that happens the less chance we have in getting a prolonged freezing rain event…

Sleet is 100% certain in this area at this point… How long we have the (just sleet) is the million $ dollar $ question?

We'll see. Models get a lot wrong around here though.

If it rains surface temps will be warmer than what they say.

Anyone know how Tennessee is looking compared to the models?
