Maggie Ace
The sun broke out today in Maggie and it felt good! I'm seeing a fairly active weather pattern the next couple of weeks with reinforcing troughs and cold fronts every 4 to 5 day progressively getting colder.
Buckethead
Stayed in the fog for a majority of the day up here, only reached 49 for a high. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk
strongwxnc
Did some hiking/ running around Montreat today. This was on east ridge headed to buck gap. All foggy for sure. Temp was around 53 or so! .

Maggie Ace
Frosty 36 here at the house this morning. The Poplars are getting ready to dump their leaves. Last year they didn't start dropping until mid/late November.

Seem to flip cool around the week of Halloween if I am remembering correctly.
Tyler Penland
What a nice stretch of weather. Absolutely perfect for leaf season. The colors have been excellent this year so far. Also saw the 18z GFS with our first flurries by the 18th.Sent from my Pixel 5 using Tapatalk
Tyler Penland
2nd straight day with a low of exactly 34.2°.Looks like some big winds possible behind the front Friday that might put an end to high elevation leaf season. wncsnow
No frost here yet this season. Looks like that will end next week.

Met1985
This weekend was absolutely stunning. Colors are really starting to pop. We had highs in the 60s and lows in the 30s....

Sent from my Pixel 5 using TapatalkTalk about a front that's mellowed out. Looking much less sharp than the past couple days had shown. Maybe some light showers and not much of a cold press. I'll take it, though, the longer fall photography season lasts the better. Sent from my Pixel 5 using Tapatalk
Tyler Penland
Colors are phenomenal this year. Glad to see some clouds around keeping things interesting despite the lack of rain. Worked out for a spectacular sunset last night. Sent from my Pixel 5 using Tapatalk
Maggie Ace
We totally missed out on rain yesterday and overnight here in Maggie. The Polar trees dumped about 50% of their leaves with the breezy winds the past 24 hours. Peak leaves are quickly moving down towards the Valley and should peak out this weekend or early next week. It's interesting to see temperatures forecast by the models early next week with highs in the low 40’s and morning lows in the low 20’s!
weatherlover
Thinking about heading to Boone Saturday for the day.. are the leaves peak in that area? Thanks for any info!
Tyler Penland
Thinking about heading to Boone Saturday for the day.. are the leaves peak in that area? Thanks for any info!Yeah they're pretty solid. They held up decent through the rain but we'll see what the wind does tonight. However just be aware traffic is going to be a nightmare moreso than usual. The Wooly Worm Festival and Valle Crucis Fair are this weekend and we're expecting the biggest single day traffic influx of the year. Our business in Blowing Rock that day is comparable to Black Friday. Sent from my Pixel 5 using Tapatalk
Tyler Penland
Had planned to hit up West Virginia next week for whatever leaves are left, particularly around the NRG but the models are telling me I might be changing seasons entirely. Looks like a good amount of snow in the mountains up there. Sent from my Pixel 5 using Tapatalk

Met1985
When I left out this morning at 4:30 it was 34 with frost. Next week looks downright cold. Some days highs in the 40s and lows around 20. Peak season is approaching fast.

Maggie Ace
33 and frosty at the house this morning. Certainly looking like a early taste of Arctic air arriving Monday with a couple of shortwaves rotating around the Hudson Bay low bringing reinforcing shots of cold air through at least next Thursday.
Tyler Penland
I expect we'll see the first round of high elevation flurries this upcoming week. Tuesday morning looks like a good bet. I wouldn't even be surprised to see a few flakes make it down in elevation a good bit as the trough really digs in. Not much moisture to work with but it's sure gonna be cold enough.
