Flood Advisory has been issued for NE Wayne County, 1-2" of rain has fallen with an additional 1" of rain possible.

Still nothing to write home about IMBY. Have been getting some light rain, but most of the action has been literally a mile or two to my south.

Something tells me I should take 696 home vs 94 home.

Per MDOT

Weather problem on I-94

11:21 PM - Weather-related problem on Westbound I-94 at Chalmers
Location: Westbound I-94 at Chalmers
Water over the Roadway
This incident affects all lanes. The road is closed

I am sure Eastbound is the same as well since that is a notorious flood prone spot.

That seems like the best option. It looks like there's flooding at I-94 and Gratiot too.

Hopefully it dries up before the morning commute...

K I was at Cedar Point all day but came back home to find some locally significant flooding on my street. There's some flooding that my dad's only seen once or twice in 20 years living here. Piecing together some info it seems like the storms that moved through this evening dropped "only" about 1.5", but did so damn quickly. Some local stations from wunderground show rates at like 4-5" per hour. So I guess that combined with the other rain we've had here lately explains the rare flooding we have on our hands here now (big runoff river running across the yard, landscaping washed into pool...)

Damn man, I didn't think it was bad up your way. I can't even imagine how bad it might be if we have some slow moving storms over the entire metro area anytime in the next week or so.

Yeah I didn't expect this at all either. I'm in West Bloomfield btw right now, not Ann Arbor. But yeah flash flooding on saturated grounds man. Certainly the worse I've seen here since 2011 I think when some training storms rolled through.

Just drove home from the casino and no issues heading 94E to M59. West bound near Chalmers looked pretty bad and backed up for about a mile. Weird drive home as I was driving in and out of wet roads every other mile.

Yeah I figured you were back at home. I do think tomorrow (later today) could be concerning especially with potential slow movements of any storm.

Yeah I ended up just going around anyways, 94 is pretty lousy from 75 to Connor with no lights anyways, you can't see the slick spots

3.78" in my CoCoRaHS gauge in the past 24 hrs, with a lot more just southeast of here. Yeah, we're having some Detroit-like problems down here:
