I wouldn't pay attention to the snow maps. QPF is 1.25" plus for all. Simple 10:1 is over a foot for all.

spread out over a long time...we're basically snowing at 1/4-1/2" per hour most of the time, not really going to accumulate during the day. compacted snow totals would probably be around 6" even with the high qpf in the city

Temps are slightly colder than marginal and 850's are plenty cold.  Also we are going into the potential storm with very cold temps preceding it and very cold ground.  Don't think we have trouble accumulating as long as precip is steady or moderate.

Agree 100%. Sun angle is too strong now.

I doubt this...some of the snow maps are showing up to 20" in NNJ and you think it will be 6". If this was to verify good luck with that prediction.
