Had lake effect rain/drizzle most of the morning. Mid 70's tomorrow before another cool down moves in. What a short Summer. From snows in May and frosts well into mid June, and low 40's for lows a few times in July . Average high is dropping already and sun angle lowering to a noticeable level already. Like bowme said, 60 days and color will be full on.

Josh, do you have a weather station? Why not get one so you can compare your own house to metro.

I'm going to have one online soon... I have a cheapo I ordered for temporary usage, but I plan on putting a high end one up.

I have an official nws rain gauge, snow stick, and snow board, but not thermometer. There is a wunderground station in wyandotte. Its usually close to DTW sometimes colder sometimes warmer. Being right on the water though we won't radiate well at all either on cold nights. Yesterday wyandotte was 69/52.

Have to keep in mind, as annoying as uhi is today, the radiatiational cooling was even more annoying back in the mid 1960s thru 1970s. As I said think ARB today. DTW was regularly far cooler than almost every other site in SE MI, official or otherwise, on those days with prime radiating conditions. Its built up way more by DTW than it used to be, but its no where near urban. Still plenty of rural near the airport.

We were 70 for 20 minutes when the cloud cover temporarly went to scattered then the clouds thickened and lowered, but we were 70 from 205 to 225 though.

The overall temp patterns yesterday were funky as the temp kept going up and down. Im guessing its from the LER in the area but DTW itself only got a T of rain. I had 0.04" so I am killing it at 7.04" in July.

Nice^.

I would imagine Alaska has some below normal temps and probably Hawaii too with T.S. Flossie approaching.

Definitely below normal again here today. Still hanging in the 60s. Thinking lower 70s will be it for today.

Data missing for 1946 to 1963, 1970, 1989 to 1991

I haven't checked 1946 to 1963 yet, but just looking at WL COOP records and Wunderground obs for LAF, we probably had 1 or 2 sub 50s in 1970 and none from 1989 to 1991.

Same, even had 2 days stuck in the 50's.  Lake across the road has begun to cool off already.  It's lost 4 degrees off its peak of 73.

Not surprised. Lake breeze packing a punch today. Only 67° for a high today - was supposed to be 76°!

Now. Little bit of difference.

This might pay off for you guys down the road if lake temps can stay relatively cool into fall/early winter. Of course there are various factors that go into that.
