But I liked it and eastern in the years prior to subforums. I acknowledge part of my problem is my own changing needs and more acute attention spent on time management which is more critical to me now. I don't see an issue with shooting the breeze among friends. Don't really get to see many people too often, so this plays serves as a medium for that. Depends on what is said. The internet and this community just became too big to sustain everything in one forum...especially during busy times. I preferred the days with everyone together, but it just wasn't functionally feasible anymore. It's not difficult to make the extra couple of clicks to check the other forums though. The same crew is here. There's just not as much interaction between the regions. Before subforums the interactions pretty much became cross region trolling anyways. In the end it's just change and many people don't like it when they're comfortable with the current situation. It's like Facebook changing something about their layout once per month and the users having online protests against it. We have lots of peeps here so it's impossible to please everyone. And you know my feeling about the borderline offensive banter that goes on continuously by grown men who should know better. With a KU for only NE there would be less bs for sur. but the subforums have ruined the camaraderie developed cross regionally in the early years. I miss that. The funny thing is thqt the most vocal proponents of subforums don't post much anymore on the wx side. Is ther any better knowledge than we get on the regular wx side by people like Don S, Wes, all the others? We have our own experts and for that I'm thankful but the larger community feel is gone and hence, the board has changed in so many ways tht to me are not positive. +1 on your 1st point As to your 2nd, there have been moves made to bring major events back into the main forum so that the community can take part in them. I don't know about complains via PMs or reports that you may know of. I just mean that we didn't see posts like Jerry's much at all. other than the occasional subforums suck posts...those thoughts took a back seat it seems thanks to the active wx. There are so few of us that before subforums (thinking of Eastern) we tended to get burried by the very vocal and (over) abundent populace from points south and west.
