5.8 Earthquake Aug 23, 2011

Recommended Posts

Still can't grasp where the potential that this was just a foreshock, but hey if the director of the USGS says it, then I guess I should think about. Could take up to one week if it was.

Every seismic event is possibly a foreshock. Did you read the part where she said it was a very low probability?

Did we just have a barely detectable aftershock?

I thought I felt something too. But I live behind an ally.

Daniel Johnson reporting on Facebook he felt it too

I was leaning against a wall and could feel very slight rocking. Guesses? 3.2. ;)

Oh good lord. People who don't know what they are talking about should not be allowed to be broadcast scientists. Who was it? Somebody from WJLA I presume? Doesn't WTOP use WJLA mets?

I'm curious who it was too. They usually either have Doug Hill or Bob Ryan give the forecast during the evening rush, but I can't imagine it was one of them. And yeah, they use WJLA mets.

Didn't feel anything here in Dundalk

Felt something real slight here down the street from ya, strong aftershock in actuality, deeper, could be another sizable one for us in store (4.5ish)

Volcano set to erupt directly under Ian's place.

maybe it will keep snapping northeast.

everyone is so jealous of our earthquakes.

Indications are that the Yellowstone Volcano has relocated underneath the DC area. Katie's mspaint entry is going to come true if that is the case.
