Probably the main reason why the HRRR has performed more poorly in the past month versus earlier in the winter, is that we're heading into spring and convection season. A very high resolution model like the HRRR (4km resolution) can be ultra-sensitive to convection and it can throw off storm tracks and QPF placement greatly.

Careful with the HRRR, it hasn't been very reliable in the past month or so. Not sure what caused the sudden change.

Interesting, thanks for the reply. I don't remember it going through this last year though?

Just got in from seeing, Yes at Penns Peak...what a surprise, especially for the non-locals,upon exiting...Snow to at times Hvy Snow...all graasy area's covered and roads were just starting to get that slushy/white look before it get's dicey ...temp. was between 32/33 on the short ride home so to overcome wet roads above freezing was impressive...my car had a wet 1/2" coverage in the parking lot...

You beat me too the punch...

I too saw YES and enjoyed the falling snow more than the show (other than Close to the Edge which was fanatastic...They're missing Jon Anderson for sure!!)

As we drove down the front side of the ~1800 ft mountain, the snow quickly changed to rain as we headed southbound on the NE extension to Ambler PA where it is currently 36F with light rain. Next concert...Peter Gabriel in Camden on June 25.....not counting on any snow for that show BUT, Gabriel will be amazing (as always)!!!
