  1. It's been a very normal April in the valley. Frost most days. The CP and the hilltops have been a lot warmer relative to long term averages.
  2. I'm not here to defend drunk drivers, but I do think the actual roadway behavior is actually more important than the reasoning behind it. If you get caught sober doing 110 and weaving in and out of traffic you'll be in far less trouble than a guy doing 35 to the right with a taillight out who had a few cocktails. The former is far more worthy of punishment... but yes the latter is also worthy of punishment.
  3. I think impatience plus anger is the worst offender of all... folks passing in no passing lanes nearly causing head on collisions... likely dead sober... If there were a good reason to implement caning that would be it IMO. Give me the cautious drunk over the wound up douchebag behind the wheel every single time.
  4. It really wasn't too windy at Killington yesterday, but stayed mostly overcast and chilly til like 130PM, thereafter softening a little bit. So it was either icy groomers or frozen, cruddy moguls with some windblown pow in the troughs. Almost everyone on the hill opted for the former, and we had the latter to basically to ourselves. Took a little getting used to and some human groomin but it got pretty damn fun and we ended up with over 25k vert of battle skiing. Nice leg workout.

  6. by and large a bust for most... some low end severe hail aside. Nice stovepipe further south however.
  7. Looks like Kevin should get some nice cells ripping through DFW in a little while
  8. yeah, some early cap cannon fodder... maybe subsequent attempts might do a little better later on
  9. you may have been correct there... FWD saying the cap has substantially weakened based on aircraft data
  10. Those cells must have originated above the EML, it was pretty darn stout at 12z. I think that could be why the mesos didn't resolve that activity, with no obvious forcing and a capped environment. Anyway, not sure about the cap implications later on, but I do think your point about possible boundaries could be good one if they don't mix out beforehand. If something surface based managed to pop it would have the atmosphere totally to itself and look out... but even if it's just another elevated cell or two it could still produce severe hail.
  11. Some early, poorly modeled, elevated cells moving through DFW with non-severe hail. But definitely supercell structure. Pretty classic conditional risk later on today as the instability builds with no obvious trigger but a favorable wind field. Could be some picturesque conditions.
  12. Perfect timing. Conditional risk Monday and Weds could be ok too with the fropa. I've been down there for 16 confimed tors a few weeks ago and 6 more last week. Let's keep it going.
  13. Yeah we just got a couple close ones here too in the last few minutes
  14. EF1 confirmed in Ellis county near Midlothian
  15. EF2 in Johnson County and an EF1 in Collin county confirmed so far
  16. Got pounded with nickels, maybe larger, and super heavy rain Farmers Branch along 635 earlier.
  17. Some sun now in Farmers Branch, but just drove from Tarrant county and was much sunnier over there.
  18. Great game. Maybe a few too many whistles but on the whole it lived up to the billing.
