It sorta looks like the Midwest front is coming in a little earlier than previously progged, so things don't have a chance to develop and get pushed off the east coast.

Good news is that the globals have lost the strong GOM system. Hopefully, that trend continues.

Months of a weak Niña Enso is for certain. Whether we get the requisite 5 trimonthlies to qualify as an official weak Niña remains a question in my mind. Mainly because waters seem to go to neutral pretty fast after December from what I've seen. But maybe I'm not looking at the right stuff, idk.

Could be, but we'll just have to see if 1) it develops as progged and, 2) the actual response. Top map shows we've had a few weeks of westerlies but looks like some cooling will begin shortly per Gfs. Bottom map is the Cfs2 which suggests cooling returns thru December, albeit sketchy. No doubt if we get an official Niña it'll be weak...very weak! Lol

And if you go back a few hundred years from that from around 1200AD-1850 you had the mini Ice Age. But that was after the Mediaeval Warm period from around 800AD-1400AD when Greenland was being farmed by Vikings was warmer and lush that the Vikings were planting crops, farming, etc., hence the name Greenland. Ocean temps were obviously warmer. So it waxes and wanes up and down. P.s. I meant to add, with that graph starting around 1850, we were at the end of the mini Ice Age. Obviously, the oceans would be at their coldest.
