  1. Spending some time in Maine.
  2. Katahdin was obscured in clouds today but still pretty awesome.
  3. I’ve found the corporate world just isn’t designed for places like ours either. Member owned, lots of volunteer hours to keep things going. Golfer numbers dropping and most of those just want to pay a fee and play. They don’t want to be involved beyond that.
  4. The golf industry is tough. In much of the country it’s been overbuilt and the number of golfers has been dropping. High end courses so well but many are real estate ventures where the course is an amenity. This article talks about it. https://www.turfnet.com/news.html/tough-times-are-taking-the-fun-and-memories-out-of-golf-r834/
  5. You could get ours for less than $400k. It’s a bargain!
  6. It’s slow going with the snowmobile trailer. I’m a timid tower and feel like every bump is going to cause the trailer to come unhitched. And some of those roads have a lot of bumps.
  7. Demographics and a 10 year hangover from tropical storm Irene. We had to borrow over $200k to repair from the floods and the debt service is eating us alive. We are a member owned 9 hole course and the golf business is tough enough when you only have 6 months per year at most to make your money.
  8. We used our stoppage allowance at P&H Truckstop in Wells River, VT. They make a good omelette and bake killer bread. 6 hours on the road after that.
  9. We starting to pick up a nice following in Atlantic Canada. Nice recruiting Hazy and Nick!
  10. Somewhere, way back in some November thread, that I’m way too lazy to search for, is my regular post citing my fear of the rubber band snapping back hard after such a cold start, ala 1989. As usual, I had no scientific reason but even a broke clock is right twice a day for the wrong reasons.
  11. I’m just looking to keep the course I’m president of out of bankruptcy.
  12. Drove across NNE today to Millinocket, ME. The thin snowcover was noticeable through the Whites and western Maine. I have more snow at my house than much of that area. Bethlehem and Twin Mt. in NH wasn’t good at all. It was a little better through. Berlin and Gorham, NH. From Bethel, ME until north of Bangor it was thin to at time just about bare. Dryslot looks to be in a snow desert just about. Looks like good coverage here though.
  13. Good luck with temps like this posted on BTV's page this morning!
  14. When you click on the stations it is working though. Currently -3° at MPV
  15. Worst winter ever. This was BTV's "current" observations this morning
  16. Not me. When I saw “she gone” I just wanted to jump on the chance to post some Hall and Oates.
  17. Damn you. That lead me in to the Curb rabbit hole. There goes my afternoon at work!
  18. Because your kids are grown and out of the house?
  19. You can really see the elevation impact on accumulation. I drive I-89 everyday and coming down the hill from Berlin to Montpelier and get a great view of the Worcester Range and bits of the Spine. The upper 1000' are almost completely white. It's like a line was drawn on the mountainsides.
  20. Nice. That will be good for the Rangeley region.
  21. Much less here away from the spine but pretty consistent flurry/light snow action over the last day or two. All snow is good snow, until April at least. By then I’m jonesing for some golf.
  22. No, he just wanted to know if the driver had access to the JMA upper air charts
