  1. Cold day with light snow/flurries most of the day. Hi was 23.7 and is 18 currently.
  2. Quite the wintry morning
  3. Received 1.2" overnight. Super light and fluffy as you might expect. Still snowing lightly, but steadily. 17.6/14.7 currently.
  4. I hit -15.2 yesterday and -8.9 this morning. Definitely the coldest since I've been here (but that's only 3 winters). I have no idea how unusual -15 is. My guess is lately (of course) it's extremely rare but prior to say 2015?
  5. Being in NY yesterday irt schools was interesting. I was (endlessly) digging out my car and it was -16 and the day before mby had over 50 inches of snow. And what goes lumbering by at 7 AM? School buses. A small parade of them with kids inside. I know they are used to the snow, but was just a pretty stark juxtaposition to our area.
  6. -8.9 this morning
  7. Just got back home from New York and doesn’t feel as tho I left. Already below zero (-0.9). .
  8. I was reading a post from somebody in Garrett County and mentioned their weather site tanked several degrees after the sun came up. Sure enough I looked at mine and the same thing happened. Hit -15.2° after 7:30 in the morning. Neat stuff!
  9. In Mountain Lake Park, a nip is in the air at -12.8. Here in NY a local station has -16. Ended up with 55 inches - but now time to finish digging out and head home. Fun chase.
  10. Based on when a report of 48” came in from Rodman NY (about a mile away), I’m at 53”. It’s about to start again and as long as this band doesn’t high tail it through here, have a decent shot at 60”.
  11. I’ve been doing some shoveling omg.
  12. Yes…I’m squarely under it. It’s been around 2-3” per hour most of the night. Began at 8:30 last night and have ~27 inches (that may be conservative).
  13. Man I wish this was DC! Barnes Corners NY. The truck was clean at midnight and the homeowner (I’m in an airbnb) has had a plow come by twice already. Estimating 27” so far.
  14. I’m in New York chasing the LES off Ontario but a bone chilling -8.5 at home in Mountain Lake Park (close to the -8.9 during the Dec ‘22 cold snap)
  15. I’m in Barnes Corners for this LES event. Fortunately, under a meso discussion for 2-3” per hour rates. It’s verifying - great storm so far. Let’s see if I can stay under this band.
  16. 85.4 in Mountain Lake Park. 13.5” from yesterdays storm and quite heavy upslope.
  17. @jonjon wonder how you've fared today. I'm up to 8.6" so far, but the sun is poking out from behind the clouds so things are winding down from the synoptic system. We should have some more upslope tonight, however. Temp down to 17.8.
  18. Exactly. I wouldn't be surprised if we got 5" in 2 hours. I just walked around my lil hood happy as can be. Did decide to head up to the northern Tug Hill after all this evening (give our plows a chance to do their thing) - been talking with some of the NY crew. Looks legit off of Lake Ontario.
  19. @nj2va what a great storm! I am over 8" for the day. Your maze looks amazing, what fun! 19.6 degrees here - best part of today is no wind to speak of.
  20. Latest runs also cut back quite a bit on QPF here in the highlands. I also canceled my LES chase this morning as it looks like the bands' forecast continue to inch northward. Not worth the chance of getting skunked for the kind of money airbnb charges. Good news it's still going to snow and the Commanders game was a thrill.
  21. I'm always a little behind you in these setups. Still light rain here, 34.9. The hubby is working a double shift at Wisp today (14 hours omg)...at least he has tomorrow and Monday off. He said today was absolutely wild with the crowds. You guys heading to the slopes this weekend?
  22. Hope you made it home and then here to Deep Creek in good shape Rain today sucked but fortunately we're back in the deep freeze tonight.
  23. Yes you did in 2022 but that link is no longer active. Would you kindly send me another link?
  24. 15.6 at midnight but 39.2 now. Was nearly 40 yesterday as well. Snowpack has really compacted in the last few days. Looks to be a decent shot tomorrow here with 6-8 or so. Getting things packed today to head up to NY's Tug Hill tomorrow to see if I can win at the LES chase.
  25. I'm hoping that at the beginning of the week at least it's stable irt wind direction. Just reserved a house near Worth Center, NY (Tug Hill) for 5 nights beginning Sunday in hopes of chasing a big LES event. Earlier models showed it being further south, so needed to adjust. Always a gamble when your 'storm' is 10 miles wide but if you nail it, oh boy is it awesome.
