This place is going to short circuit.

Made it below zero, albeit barely (-0.8). First of the season and fortunately, not the last it doesn't look like.

I took the Acela every week for nearly 4 years. It's not Japan-esque but it sure as hell beats driving up/down 95. New ones are pretty slick too.

I hope we all get a Blue Bird day soon. After a busy weekend at Wisp, calm has returned. Pic is this afternoon on the backside of the mountain. Temp this afternoon is in the low teens.

If we totally decoupled, it would have been colder but winds stayed ~3-7 mph most of the night. Low was 0.7. Almost made it below zero for the first time this season.

I've received about 9" in the last week with a nice snow shower this morning. Breezy with temps in the upper teens. Whitened everything up for that deep winter feel. I allllmost left for New York this morning to chase what promises to be a very intense LES band but decided to stay local. I hope this weekend's storm comes to some sort of fruition as a consolation prize.

Andy said the slopes are in excellent shape. A little fresh powder last night also helps to freshen everything up. Have a super fun day out there!

Overperforming - so far - here in Garrett County. @northarlington101 brought some good juju with him. Off to Canaan to go tubing tomorrow.

Temp never got above 11 during daylight (midnight it was 25) and snow fell throughout the day. Total was nearly 6". Nice event and currently just 8 outside with wind continuing.

Winter is back. This has been a pretty good upslope event. 4.5" so far and temp is 11.1 with significant blowing/drifting occurring. Closing in on 50" for the season. In other words, my kinda day!!

Ahh, you guys are great. Like everyone else here, I'm a snow weenie. Unfortunately that has meant driving (or flying) long distances to experience it firsthand. We are close enough in the MA to be in the game but rarely score. So, experiencing these chases with other like-minded people makes it so much better. I hope that as future snow seasons are upon us, we form a bigger and bigger chase group. @dailylurker and I, not having met in person (but texting constantly), had a great time in New York - he did his thing and I did mine while still hanging out a lot. And we nailed it - close to 100 inches over 4-5 days. Best of all worlds and I invite everyone to consider joining future chases. @NorthArlington101 we'll hit Davis for a bite, Canaan for some tubing and Blackwater Falls for a little hike in the snow this weekend. Anyone else up for it? We're all here because of our love of weather. Just treat each other as you would seeing a map w/a 979 right off the coast of Norfolk with a 1048 over Ontario and a big ass Greenland block.

Ahhh winter is back.

Temp is down to 25 and have about 1.5" otg. Fortunately wind hasn't been a huge issue so far. But a great day to watch football and make a big 'ol pot of beef stew.

Temps - after around 5 straight days/nights above freezing - have finally lowered enough to turn the Wisp snow guns on. Workers were struggling to keep enough snow at the lift exit areas the last few days, but overall managed to keep things going quite nicely while they saw lots of melting. Fortunately that period is behind us. Today's squall parameters and overall setup calls for a 3-6 from NWS, but the setup, imo, is more marginal with just a few inches outside of the most favored areas. Regardless, better than the 59 and high humidity I saw two days ago. Hope I am wrong about accums because we desperately need it (for legit purposes as well as my own grumpiness for April-esque mud everywhere).

Relatively paltry 0.19" although I'm hoping to double that amount with the upslope tomorrow.

What an epic birthday among the MA snowfall lore! Poor kid is going to be a giant weenie like his Dad congrats to you and your wife.

Round 2 in Pulaski, New York. Reached a foot since about 5 pm and is now 4-5” or more per hour. Love the yellows on radar.

Yes. This is where @dailylurker and I have our home base. Very intense rates for the last 2 hours. We’ve picked up at least a foot since 9 am…located about 10 miles east of Lacona, NY at around 1,400 feet. This is the “main” road.

Happy to report that the roads caved.

How much have you received since snow began? I would like to take your total, subtract a bit so I can keep my tally going.

Made it to the Tug. About 2’ otg with about 45” forecast. We are northeast of Pulaski. Anyone who gets a wild hair and wants to attempt a chase, this is a big ol cabin with tons of room. LFG!!

It's over 40 degrees colder than at midnight. Serious front! Have a very light dusting otg although the snow is gradually increasing in intensity.
