That's exactly what I've received out here in sw Garrett County. Temp was 60.4 at midnight, now 29.1 - the yoyo party commences. Looks like I picked up nearly 1" of liquid in the past 24 hours which is nice.

Brief but intense showers continue. Up to 0.56" of rain so far today. Air is definitely juicy so if any peeks of sun appear later, it won't take much to recharge the atmosphere.
-
Garden variety thunderstorm this morning dropping a quick 0.31". Will be interesting to see how this impacts the thunderstorm threat later today.

It's a beautiful day out here. Currently up to 75.4 and everyone is coming out of hibernation.

Dreary and muggy out in the mountains. We've received 1.56" of precip the last few days and the line that just moved through had an early summer feel...large rain drops, super humid and distant rumbles of thunder. You know, late winter kinda stuff lol. My poor hubby is working the second shift at Wisp. He said there's been one guy he's seen since about 4 PM. Talk about a diehard out there - I love winter but skiing in a thunderstorm sucks. Feels kinda like the week after Christmas...time to wrap things up for the season, put away the lights and take the skis to the basement. We might get a surprise in a week, but the writing is obviously on the wall. But, in just 6 months, we'll be starting football and pumpkin spice season anew!

Mid 20s all day. 1.5" total. Nice little event to whiten up the bare ground. -
Outta gas and Outta Time: Early March Winter Storm finale

I just drove back home from Richmond tonight and noticed the brining. I travel this route (259 to 48) probably 15-20 times a year and don't remember ever seeing them brined like that. -
This is something I’ve never seen before. I have literally hundreds of snow balls in the yard. I’d say they vary from a small cantaloupe to a small watermelon in size. The upslope from the past few days is pure fluff. The snow falling now is much wetter. The wind pushed the snow into these perfectly round shapes. Almost like Mother Nature starting a snowman.

Steady snow this morning - temperature rose to 40 overnight on SW winds but once precip started, fell back to its current 30. About 1.5" otg from this latest round. I'll probably pick up another 2" before temps climb late morning/early afternoon.

Added another 3.5" to the tally last night for a total in the last 48 hours of 14.5". A local observation had 3.8" with only 0.09" QPF, giving a 42:1 SLR so it's obviously massless fluff. Still pretty tho and Wisp is back into good shape. Looking for another 3-5" tonight with the WWA hoisted so a nice snowy stretch as we approach meteorological spring.

Intense snow showers throughout the day - tough to measure but I'm estimating 11" combined with what fell yesterday. Hi only made it to 26, currently 19. Beautiful deep winter day. -

A classic upslope snowstorm on the western side of the Allegheny Front. Since yesterday morning, 6.5" imby with steady, at times moderate, snow continuing. Temp is 22.5 with winds remaining under 25 mph so the drifting is a relative minimum. Had a long pause yesterday afternoon/evening but overnight, it's been cranking. I'm a bit surprised since Erie is still closed for business, but regardless, it's very welcome for folks at the local ski resorts to be able to punch into March with a bit of a base. -

Steady light snow. 29.5 currently - temp was around 31 at sunrise, so going in the right direction. Main roads are fine since they've been treated but neighborhood/side roads caved. I'd say a little less than an inch so far. -

I'd like to be the first to report snow. Hi today was 49.8 but cooled off nicely to 33 now. I would absolutely love to be in New Jersey but that inconvenient thing called work is keeping me in the home office. I hope we all do well! -
It's like watching the development of a modern art masterpiece.

Jesus talk about a chase opportunity in our backyard. Inland a bit in southern DE verbatim? Om, yessir. -
I've heard a lil somethin' about this

58 and sunny. I'm sick of this damn heat.

I ended up gaining 53 degrees today for a high of almost 41. Warm enough that I washed my truck for the first time in forever - my god it was disgusting. Canaan NWR rose nearly 67 degrees...a record difference between hi/lo there (I know it hasn't been in existence all that long, but still that's pretty damn impressive especially since we have a ton of snow on the ground). But, the air is super dry and with a bit of a higher sun angle, voila, a noteworthy rebound.

Very cold low of -12.3 this morning. Second coldest low so far this season (few weeks ago it was -16.8).

At its core, this board does one thing: bring people together united by our love of weather who otherwise wouldn't know each other existed. You are a sterling (no pun intended) example of an awesome human being who happens to love weather. I had an amazing time staying up until 2 am talking about weather and appreciate your patience as I asked forty million questions about my passion, lake effect snow. I am no met scientist and know my lane here and appreciate the fact you let me take a drive in yours. That intercept up at Keysers Ridge is on my short list of all time weather experiences. Heck, Justin Berk loved it and reposted a pic of us getting crushed! The mark of a good time is answering a single question: would you do it again? Hell yeah, times a thousand. My door is wide open for you any time, any day.

Based on several highly unscientific measurements/observations, I'm going to call it at 7". That could be wildly inaccurate but it's impossible to measure. Temps have leveled off around 2 with winds in the 25 mph range. The squall intercept last night with @MillvilleWx at Keysers Ridge was just frickin' epic and as I told @NorthArlington101 it was truly a high-end Great Lakes-esque experience. The difference is it lasted 20 minutes here and the Great Lakes would've lasted for 2 days lol. I'm still trying to organize some victims, er volunteers, for tubing tonight at Canaan. Any takers?

My Dad lives in Midlothian and he reported a very surprised 3.5".
