  1. A festive scene to wake up to.
  2. Hi of 56 yesterday. Currently 28 and light snow first of the season.
  3. Down to 44 with a steady W breeze about 20 mph. Under a WWA for 3-6" although this setup, at least imby, is closer to 2-3" kinda deal. I'll go from mid-September to mid-January tho in 24 hours tomorrow night with mid-teens and 35 mph winds. That'll be a shock to the system.
  4. 0.28" I'll take it. Excited about the first flakes incoming. Seriously considering heading downwind from Erie for the season's first chase but just not sure it'll be worth it. But, more importantly, just happy the season is finally here.
  5. BWI: 11.4" DCA: 9.6" IAD: 13.9" RIC: 6.6" Tiebreaker (LYH): 8.2" MBY: 115"
  6. 0.77" for this event so far. Temps bouncing around the low 40s. Will be interesting to see if any of the upslope mixes in with a few flakes over the next day or two.
  7. Temp has surged above 75 under filtered sun and a great breeze. Really beautiful outside tho I think it's going to be quite a long time before I see 75 again
  8. 27 - if only there was some upslope
  9. 30.0 on the nose. First morning <32 and it's my birthday. Heh, thanks Mother Nature for a nice lil present. And, heading to Calumet, MI to see if I can find a little place to call home in the future. Good start to the day
  10. Ji had a meltdown because I got caught by a red light yesterday and he doesn't even know me.
  11. This is one of the models for this weekend’s storm. How awesome would this be if this kind of pattern exists over the winter so we get a true Nor’easter?! We can only hope.
  12. You got that right (soupy). Stayed in the upper 60s here both yesterday and this afternoon but it felt like earlier in the summer with the high humidity. Have received 0.61" over the last two days which is the most in two months, so I'll take what I can get. Be nice to cash in on whatever this weekend brings, but you (and especially me) look to be on the fringes. Fingers crossed.
  13. Did pick up 0.11” for a September total so far of 0.28”. Tinder dry.
  14. Beautiful weather in Myrtle Beach. About 77/60.
  15. That was a pretty good storm out in the Garrett County area as well. I ended up with exactly a foot.
  16. Pretty good shot of the inversion that’s so common this time of the year. About 40 this morning but area hills are aoa 50.
  17. Bone dry out here. High of 74...came back from two nights at the MGM and grasses are tinder dry and brown, especially in western VA and WV. Even saw a decent size fire in the hinterlands of WV as I was coming up the grade on 48. Hope we get some decent rain before/during leaf drop.
  18. 35.2 and first morning here with lots of frost on cars/roofs.
  19. Went to the game. Dropped some balls that we need to haul in but their D was outstanding. Didn’t hurt that the weather was damn near perfect.
  20. The colors on the usual suspects (sugar maples, etc) are beginning to show. It’s quite noticeable and several weeks ahead of normal. It’s been right at 40 last few mornings. Do leaves respond more to reduced sunlight or temp?
  21. Last night was similar to the one before. 41.9. Last year around this time, had 2 nights in the 30s. Maybe tomorrow or Saturday night?
  22. Canaan is a relatively short drive for me so when my Dad was visiting this weekend, we drove by there and mentioned how us weather nerds follow their temps like gospel. Interesting that today, it's the coldest in the country. Even for a guy who couldn't care less about weather, he finds it fascinating that a locale near us can be that cold. Wish I could have a cabin smack in the middle of it.
  23. Another beautiful morning area-wide. Chilly low here, 42.
