I was supposed to be near 60 now and it's just 44. Might be one of those times where cool and clouds hold on then it finally gets warm at 4 or 5 pm. We'll see

I went to Steamboat in Feb 1996 back when I used to ski -- I had the epic winter here then went there and saw what 5-6 feet of snow on the ground looks like. Oh and we had an 8" snow here a couple days before I went and another 8" snow a few days after I got back. What. A. Winter. -

January/February Mid/Long Range Disco IV: A New Hope

DCA is going to end up about 53/38 for Jan with the lowest temp for the month of 29! What makes this so bad is the last three winters snowfall totals were 0.6, 5.4 and 13.2. HORRIBLE When talking about where to live for retirement I never wanted the Carolinas because I hated the idea of months of bare trees and dreary, windy, rainy coat-wearing weather, but with no snow most years. We have that HERE now! I'd rather be in a very warm place and travel once a winter for snow. [Sorry for bantering] -

Ah, spring. Just watch us finally get blocking and big coastal low in mid-April with low 40s and rain -
Yeah beware the snowblower curse! I got one after hurting my back in the big 2010 storms and it hardly snowed for 3 years. Got rid of it and 2014-2016 happened

Makes you wonder if what it would be like if that ridge was say 2,500

Nice pic and beautiful yard! Is that a hummingbird feeder you still have up?

The “is it ever going to snow again” discussion.

I remember that! I was running errands around MontCo the day before with a short-sleeve shirt on as it was sunny and in the 60s. When I heard winter storm warning on the radio I laughed thinking no way its snows the next day. We got 6-7" in Germantown and it was beautiful how it stuck to the trees. -
